Laughing, that sounds like a pain. Hopefully the next test will be normal and you won't have to worry about it again.
Pinkin, I swaddled both of my boys for the first few months and then they went into sleeping bags. I think swaddling is great when they have the startle reflex and I think that eases around the 3 month mark. At the end of the day, you do what works for you so you can survive! You can buy things now called wombies which are like sleeping bags but their arms are inside, so essentially a swaddling bag. I have a friend who is using them with her 1 month old.
Mocha, I never had my boys in my room. DH is such a light sleeper that I had DS1 in a bassinette and DS2 went straight into a cot, but both in their own room. This time I plan to use a bassinette next to our bed initially. DH can sleep in another room if he needs to!! My priorities have obviously changed.
Auroara, your DS2 sounds like such a character. I call my DS2 my lovable monster, as he was a handful compared to DS1 but has so much personality I wonder where he came from! I hope some of your pressures ease soon and DH gets his s#*t together!
My poor DS1 who started on the new antibiotic last night had an allergic reaction to it this morning. So now he has developed a penicillin allergy and is bombed out on phenergan. I want my healthy boy back. DH feels helpless as he is away as usual.
I went for a big walk yesterday to try and improve my mood but all that happened was I got groin pain for the rest of the day and the baby was so ultra quiet in the evening that I began to worry. They are moving ok again now.
And Pinkin, your sugar intake doesn't cause gestational diabetes, but if by some chance you end up having it, then you have to really watch what you eat. I can't stop eating sugar either. Mostly chocolate but also these cinnamon candied almonds that I am currently addicted to!
Take care everyone. Very excited (and jealous) of you lot who don't have long to wait to meet your new bubs!

Oh, ll - sorry about failing the test. I feel lucky I've never had to do the 3 hour one - it sounds like such a pain ! I hope you have a good book to read while you're there!

Yeah, I'd agree with Mocha's suggestion, get a great book to help pass the time away!
Peony, sorry to hear about your groin pain! The other day at work I was feeling so fatigued and tired, just didn't feel right, and the baby was so still the whole morning, it got me worried! But everything was OK, just a quiet day I guess.
Last night after work, DS2 was irresisitabble. He piled on the charm really high, and was so dang adorable and funny, that his troublemaking annoyed me less. I honestly just need to keep it in check better; it's just the dang pregnacy, my fuse is so short, I get upset so very easily nowadays and that's not like at me at all...I'm usually very easy-going...gah!
They gave us floor samples today and told us that after we decide which one we want, it will be another 5 days just to order it, and then another 5 days before the job is finished! So we are looking at least another 10 days without a kitchen, and I'm sure they are off on weekends, so prob. another two weeks. GAH! What a mess....oh well, I'm goin to stop worrying about it because worry won't change anything about the situation.
I am sooooo looking forward to the little family baby shower on the 11th! My cousins know how to cheer me up, and I think getting all the girl stuff is going to make it so real...I can't wait to see all the pink....yes, now I've given up and going to embrace it fully....pink, pink, pink! And then my co workers are throwing me a baby shower too, but I don't expect much from that, but it's going to be super nice!
I really need my house back because we need to wash clothes! I got to make sure I got her baby girl clothes ready for her...I feel like August is going to fly by insanely fast because I'll be doing a lot of last minute scrambling to get ready for the baby. I am nesting like mad too, but can't do anything about it, since I don't have a kitchen and a washing machine/dryer atm, lol.

HEy ladies, I have a lot to catch up on!
Lynxie, hope the glucose test goes well. I know a few people who have had to do the 3 hr test and it came back fine. FX for you!
Peony, how is your DS? Is he feeling better? How is your groin pain? Thanks for asking about my ring--I haven't tried lately to get it off. I am just hoping that as the swelling increases, it doesn't cut the circulation to my finger!
Mocha, keep us posted on your u/s. I hope the baby is growing well! Did you find a dress to wear to your dad's funeral and the wedding? My guess is that you could find a nice, simple black dress that would be fine for both events. I am sorry again about your dad.
Auroara, I bet it is a pain not having your kitchen put together! I hope they can get it repaired soon, so you can eat a home cooked meal and wash up the baby clothes. Your baby showers should be exciting--lots of new baby things to enjoy!
As far as a wild toddler, I have one (as I am sure you remember from all my complaining). I can't promise that it gets better soon, either--my DD2 is now almost 2.5, and she is a little easier, but still a terror. Hopefully your DS will grow out of that stage quickly!
Pinkin, I love the name Oliver! Good choice.
Happylea, how are you feeling?
I used sleep sacks with all the kids, but also swaddled them at first. And we have the babies in our room in a co-sleeper for the first 2 years (DD2 is still in there--we have to move her out soon!).
I had a horrible GD dream last night. I was just depressed the whole dream because the baby was a girl. It was awful. I really hope I don't feel that bad when the baby is born.2004

Ahh, Hobbers
, I hope that was just a dream and not some kind of intuition. I keep thinking you are having a boy for sure though, for some reason, like the little clues you've given, carrying low, the ring/pencil test said boy for you...I know all those things are old wives tales, but still I can't shake my feeling that your baby is a boy. I am still
that I am right, because I think it will be make the final baby so sweet, and you'll have 2 boys 2 girls, and it will be girl boy girl boy, which is such a cute little pattern!
Oh, and Hobbers, yeah, I think it's just his personality, he is so spunky and mishevious, that I don't think he's going to get any better anytime soon, but I'll just have to deal with it! Hopefully all this craziness will be good in the end--he's so observant too.
And Peony, I meant to add earlier that I do hope your DS is feeling better soon too!
Anyone watching the Olympics much? Hubby and I are watching it every night and I'm enjoying it.

Was anyone else here huge at my gestation? My tummy already feels so hard and like a big ball... I am going to be massive by 38 / 40 weeks!! I am heaps bigger then with ds1 .
Hey Auroara , is your stomach measuring bigger or is it just from scans that they said your baby may be bigger? I think I may have a big baby in there!!!DW 33

I went to a consignment store today and found a lovely dark brown linen shift dress that will work for the funeral. It's a little tight in the bust, but otherwise nice and tasteful (it's not low cut or anything), and it only cost $8 so I can't complain! This funeral is kind of a big deal because my Dad was a prominent local figure - they're expecting hundreds of people and we're having a fancy reception afterwards at the city's historic courthouse (my father was a judge before he retired last year).
I already have my dress for the wedding - a bright, floral maxi dress.

Thanks, Auroara. It may be intuition, but who knows. I have had mostly boy dreams until last night, so I would rather think THOSE were intuition. But I still think this baby is a girl. You have been so sweet reassuring me all this time, and I hope you are right and I am wrong. I am a glass half empty person, so I just can't imagine that my sway would work, because I never get what I want anyway. That and the fact that pretty much everyone has said they think it is a boy (on here and in real life), it just seems like it is just too good to be true. I really don't know why I swayed in the first place. I should have known it wouldn't work!

Hobb , you sound JUST like me!!! I am the exact same as you not just with the swaying thing but everything in life I am a very negative person and my d/h tells me that things dont go my way because I am so negative. I know already before I even have more kids that I wont ever get a girl even if I have 6 more kids , I dont know If I would even sway ever again because nothing would work for me anyway!
In saying that I hope you get your boy and you have a very good chance at it anyway because you have already had a boy before!!!DW 33
