That does give me a bit of hope, zanacal! However, you did state that you were at one of your lowest adult weights ever, which I will not be anywhere CLOSE to (I got married 8 years ago at 110 pounds, and have reached as low as 113 in recent years), so I'm still wondering if conceiving at this weight is a good idea for me when I'm trying to sway pink.![]()

Sweet baby boy, you are loved and missed more than you will ever know.
There's not a day that goes by that I don't think of you and wonder what
you would have been like. I love you and miss you so much.
Rest now, my baby, in the loving arms of Jesus.

Hi sweetpea, congrats on the weightloss!!! I think the act of losing weight, is what sways pink, not whether or not if your bmi is at its lowest. My BMI has always been in underweight category when I conceived my 3 kids. However with the boys I was maintaining my weight, snacking & eating high nutrient foods. Whereas with DD, I was on LE diet and losing rapid weight especially in the 2 wks leading up to O. My advice would be to keep up the good work, and just keep on the weightloss track, and not worry too much about BMI. Hope this helps!! GL

Congrats on the weight you lost! I wouldn't be concerned at all. I lost weight just prior to getting pregnant with both girls. (I was loosing my baby weight from the previous baby.) However, I was a good 10lbs thinner when I got pregnant with both of my boys compared to my weight when I got pregnant with the girls. Here is my weight right before I got pregnant with each:
Boy #1- 128lbs (eating high protein diet and lifting weights 5X's a week)
Girl #1- 145lbs (low calorie diet, not much protein and only running)
Boy #2- 135lbs (eating high protein diet and lifting weights with some cardio)
Girl#2- 143lbs (low everything diet with no exercise)

sweatpie, I understand your worries but perhaps it is not just how much you weigh when ttc but also how your body is used to the weight you have. What I mean is that perhaps when your weight is stable, your body is used to that weight which for him is healthy. Then you start loosing weight and your body starts to feel as if you are not healthy anymore and thus produces girls as it thinks you are not able to feed a boy. I weighed 114lbs when I conceived my DS, so did not weigh much at all, but my weight was stable, I did not loose any weight before conceiving. Now I'm also ttc girl and am weighing 113lbs, which is not different at all from when I conceived my DS, but was weighing 127lbs till a few months ago, so still I have lost some weight and my diet has changed completely from when I conceived my son, so perhaps that will help. Just don't lose faith, you have done a big effort to lose all that weight and you should be proud of yourself. Besides, I know a lot of ladies who are not thin at all and still have girls!! Really hope you get your dream girl!

[QUOTE=sweetpea;229834]Chessika, yes it seems like our situations are very similar. What was your BMI during your first attempt cycle?
My BMi was about 24.3. But I think dreamingpink has made a good point about the overall weight loss and not the BMI. We both lost about 50 pounds so that should really help.

Thanks, ladies! You're all making me feel a lot better.
Atomic has also tried to reassure me about this before, but it's nice to also see real life examples of how some of you were able to conceive girls with a non-extreme, middle of the road BMI. I suppose the act of losing weight while shrinking muscle and following an LE-type diet is the most important thing. I know a lower BMI could help, but that just won't happen for me so I'll have to let that go.
Anyway, thanks for your encouraging words! It really did make me feel a lot better!2008
