No - they can't use pitocin with a VBAC - it increases my chance of rupture. The most they can do is just break my water, but they don't want to do that until I'm at least 4-5cm.

That's so weird that they say no pitocin for a VBAC...they use it here. I plan on a VBAC with this one (if the little stinker turns head down) and they have already mentioned that they can use pitocin...?
Now SIXbabies!

You have a lot going on! Your parents are lucky to have you there for them. Oh, and I'm sorry about your dog! Hope everyone is on the mend.
As far as the homebirth, I wonder why they are giving you such a hard time? That is annoying! I would definitely make some calls and see what you can get arranged. Hopefully they can get something set up soon. You aren't that far off from your due date!2004

HappyLea, that all sounds exhausting, and right near the end of your pregnancy. It sounds like you are running around after 6 children, and probably feels like it too. I hope your DH has been able to help out? GL getting the home-birth info (how completely frustrating). One of my friends has had 2 home births and another had her third baby as a home birth (and delivered her 10lb daughter with no drugs-eek!)

Pitocin can be used with VBAC but it does increase risk of rupture and it is generally a good idea to stay away from it. Remember ladies...a hospitals goal is to get you in and out as fast as possible. If you are not comfortable with something speak up! :-)
