Yeah, Mocha, my DH hates it when I am late--and he doesn't do much to help either! He will get himself ready, and then go watch TV or whatever until it is time to go, and then complain that we are running behind. It makes me crazy!
I long for one of those super involved, fun DHs that enjoys parenting. I have a few friends with DHs like that--too bad I didn't get one!2004

You're right, fivebabies! He always gives me the silent treatment when he knows he's messed up and I'm right. He HATES being wrong! He also hates how capable I am with the kids and I've always sorta felt he resented me for my calm approach to mothering 3 (now 4) kids.
Hobber - I've always wished I had one of those husbands too, but I definitely don't! It's funny, because my Mom's relationship with my Dad wasn't great and he really wasn't involved in our upbringing much at all except as a breadwinner, so she made a point of raising me as a strong, feminist woman. I did two BAs and two Masters Degrees and was working as a curator at Canada's largest museum by the time I was 30. But then I got married, started having kids, and here I am in the same sort of relationship she was in! In fact, sometimes my dh is so similar to my Dad in attitudes, etc. it creeps me out. Especially since my Dad and I never really got along that well. Thank god I have my 4 beautiful kids - it means I could never regret marrying dh, since if I hadn't I wouldn't have them.

Mocha--my DH is like my dad in a lot of ways too! My dad and I have a great relationship, though. The traits DH and my dad share are mostly negative ones, sadly. I love my DH--I shouldn't be so hard on him--but he isn't exactly what I signed up for, you know?
At least you can see the positives in all of this. I think someday when the kids are older, my DH will be a little mellower. Hopefully yours will too!2004

God, I'm glad i"m not the only one! I was starting to wonder..how did we EVEN make this baby even when he's getting on my last nerve lately? hehe
DS2 is such a pita too. He tossed my entire dinner (I had to get the baby) it was unguarded! all over the floor...among other highlights today. I swear he has become a monster...ugh...I am trying so hard to stay patient w/ him and make sure he gets his alone attention too, etc. But if you don't keep your eyes glued to him, he will and does destroy whatever's in sight!

Wow, I've had to do some catching up!!
Congrats, Mocha!
So, I was so tired when I originally posted, I forgot what I said. But here's the shortest version possible.
I got up to pee in the early morning (typical, haha) and when I got back to bed, I sat down and my waters just broke right there, no warning. I had no contractions or anything. I called my husband (he had stayed at his mom's place since he had to work late and they are in the same town) and my mom and they both eventually got to our house. We were admitted around 8am and the Doc on call was super nice and let me labor without breaking my fore-waters (I was worried about baby position). By 1pm with not much progress, I told her to go ahead and then labor started really well. I walked and sat in the tub, etc. By 7cm the pain was at it's worst and I got back in the bed because I was nervous that baby would be around soon. 3 contractions later, my body wanted to push so I told the nurse urgently, she checked me and I was definitely ready to go. I had to NOT push since we had to wait for the doctor. Once I was allowed to go for it, Baby Girl came out (posterior!!) in a matter of minutes!
8lbs 19 inches at 35 weeks. Crazy! I was measuring big at my appointments. I can't imagine if I went the whole way. She had a week stay in the NICU that was absolute torture for me... I have the utmost respect for mommas that have babies there for super long stays. It's just the worst to get discharged from the hospital without your baby.
