Last time they gave me some pill to soften my cervix, but my cervix was already "ripe", so the pill started my contractions. I wasn't able to get the epidural until 3 cm (they say it slows things down if you do it before). They also gave me pitocin. I am guessing things will be similar this time.
I wish I was more excited.2004

Hobber - wow - so close!!! Don't waste your last few days of pregnancy being depressed over something that may not happen. You have just as much chance of getting a boy as a girl, and I'm betting on blue!

Pinkin, I was thinking today that you should not feel guilty you can't carry him to full term. You have done everything possible to make sure he arrives safely and at the end of the day that is why he will be a bit early. You're a great mum.
HappyLea, I'm sorry you won't get to have a home birth. I hope you stay infection free and he can stay put for a bit longer. Not long until you'll get to meet your gorgeous boy!
Hobber, I am going away on Monday...I'll have to find a way to check in on you. I wish you all the very best and hope you fall in love with your baby the minute you set eyes on them.

Hi ladies.I hope everyone's doing ok - you're all in the home stretch. I'm sorry for everyone who's feeling down or anxious. The last part of pregnancy's hard enough without having extra stuff to worry about.
Sadie was a week old yesterday, and I'm already getting teary when I think about how fast she's going to grow up. To celebrate her first week I brought her to a baby photographer and got some newborn shots as well as some shots of her with me. On the weekend we'll go back with the boys and get some family shots for the Christmas card.
She's well above her birthweight now and is a thriving, happy, healthy little girl. This morning her cord stump finally fell off - it's always a relief when that happens because it's so ugly and stinky after some time has passed. She's still sleeping like a dream - I nurse her before I go to bed around 11, she wakes up to nurse at about 3, then sleeps until 6:30 or 7:00 when I have to get up with the boys to get them ready for school anyway. She's also pretty easy-going about trips out of the house. Today I brought her and ds3 to the very busy farmer's market, and she slept through the whole thing. She also walks to school with me every afternoon to pick up her big brothers.
So far life with 4 kids is good, despite the increase in naughty behaviour and temper tantrums from ds3

glad to hear the update, and glad my DS2 is not alone in getting into trouble! DS2 is twice the work of Lillian atm, and I'm so grateful for my baby girl! I'm glad to hear Sadie is a dream too!
Here is a recent pic of DS1 with Lillian:

Pinkin - don't feel bad! All my kids come early (except my first she was due date).
