Hi all, new here, trying to sway pink. JFYI, I am DH
So I was wondering, if the goal of O+12 (loosely speaking) is to conceive when DW is more acidic (which I guess happens after O) and girl / x sperm live longer, could the best approach be a compromise? Meaning, help DW get acidic before O (with RePHresh, Replens, or maybe something else?) and do a 2 or 4 day cutoff?
Anyway, like my username says, I'm confused, so any thoughts on this are greatly appreciated! Many thanks!
Edit: I just read from one of Atomic's posts that X sperm don't actually live longer. So, as hopingforsaskia points out below, timing may be a non issue. But this still leaves me confused as to why wait for O+12 at all?... but I'm sure this is addressed many places, probably in the description of O+12 itselfI guess I have more reading to do!

Just my 2 cents worth...
There is SO much more to it than acidic or alkaline.. In fact, that and timing are two things that atomic herself doesn't really put much stock in.
I would suggest looking at getting your lovely wife to look at going on the LE diet. Atomic can brush you up on the deets.good luck.

Thanks, I thought it might be more complicated. The misses is considering the LE diet, but is worried that it might be unhealthy. She just had a miscarriage
and I don't want to push her too much, she's already very supportive, maybe if I do it as well
Maybe you lovely ladies can help with another question or two... So dw had a positive OPK this morning and we may give it a shot tomorrow. We haven't been doing a real sway plan, but thought she could use Represh / replens for a small sway. So, how close to the BD time should she use it? I'm getting the impression that diet is the real key here, but trying is just so much funAlso is the mans diet just as important? I'm happy to do my part as well (minus labor pains, I don't know how much they hurt, and I'm pretty sure I don't want to

You want to use RepHresh at least 8-12 hours before your attempt. If you use it too close to your attempt it will probably kill all the sperm.

Haha no you don't want labour pains...
Woman's diet is much more important, but the suggestion is that if you could go vegetarian and drink a little soy milk each day it would only help.
The diet doesn't have to be unhealthy. DW can just have a vegetarian diet with low fat and keeping an eye on calories, and skipping breakfast to keep blood sugar levels lowish, lose just a few kgs/pounds and that in itself is a really good sway IMO.Then if you wanted to do rephresh, like Navy said, 8-12 hours is close enough to bd!
I'm so sorry for your loss too.. That's heartbreaking.

Thank you ladies!
Truth be told, I really, really (really) want to have a girl (really), but I feel it's a bit selfish given, that we don't have any children yet and my dw's main concern is for a healthy baby. Anyway, I don't know if this helps, but I've always been lean, and I mean like 3-5% body fat. Does that sway pink? My beautiful wife is more middle of the road, she eats very little salt, has a cup of coffee every day, and believes fat is actually quite healthy. She's also one of the happiest people I've ever met, and I don't want to change that
Me on the other hand, I have no problem going vegetarian for a while, although I imagine this will have to be a long term strategy as (if I remember correctly) it takes something like 72 days for new sperm to regenerate. I think Atomic also pointed to an article about runners (which I'm not, but maybe I'll give a try). I think she also mentioned something about licorice (and I'm guessing she's not referring to the awesome Aussi style red stuff)
I guess I rambled a bit off topic, anyway my point; thanks again ladies!! DW used the RePHresh as you suggested and hopefully that will give us a bit of a sway, and if not, I'll start a vegi diet

I think I have my answer in this post from Atomic:
http://genderdreaming.com/forum/ttc-...es-o-12-a.html
If I understand it correctly, the reason for O+12 is just that it's easier to keep DW acidic for the small O+12 window.
So I'm thinking:
1) Abstain ~7 days before 3 day window to O.
2) BD at 3 days to O (to increase chance of pregnancy, but maybe only once to keep the sperm count down).
3) Use RePHresh to keep DW acidic until O.
4) Diet as suggested by hopingforsaskia
Of course if DW is pg in 2wks, then maybe next timeLast edited by confusedman; October 21st, 2012 at 10:29 PM. Reason: bad typing
