Snuza is a SIDS monitor that clips on their diaper. It vibrates and sets an alarm off if no movement is detected for more than 20 seconds.

I used an angel sounds monitor, its a sensor mat u place under babys matteress if no movement is detected after 20secs an alam goes off! Like Rosie said having something like that really does helo ease some worry....tho I have to admit I still used to poke them to double check xx

I used the angel care monitor, too, but a neighbor had one as well so we could hear them and they could hear us. We got a digital monitor instead, so we will use a Snuza this time around.

Oh, Rosie, that is so heartbreaking about your friend's baby...wow it sure does remind us to be ever so thankful for our sweet, healthy children.

I had my doc appointment today and officially got my anatomy scan scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 29th at 9 am EST. Yippppeeee... I am just so curious to see what's in there, and if they tell me it's a boy, I will likely just fall right off the table in disbelief. All you ladies seeking pink can send all your blue stuff my way.....also got to hear the heartbeat today for the first time.....ofcourse we always worry about things like "what if the doc can't find the heartbeat and something is wrong..." but as soon as he placed it on my belly, wham....the heartbeat was racing away....such a glorious sound. The doc said the heartbeat was in the 150's....I know it's an old wive's tale I guess, but what is it they say about the heartbeat in boys vs. girls? I can't remember exactly. Hope everyone affected by the storm is safe...I know this week is a scary time for a lot of people.

Oh Rosie such sad news Can i ask if the parents smoke? MY DP smokes (not inside) but that freaks me out, we used the angle care monitor with DD and it never went off thank god, except when i would take her out for night feeds and forget to switch it off, haha DP hated that he would get woken by the alarm hehe.

Rosie - I'm so sorry to hear your friends sad news, just heartbreaking - and yes it really puts things in perspective how lucky we are to have our little ones. I had a clip on nappy monitor too, definitely puts your mind at rest a little.

Cinss she does smoke, not sure if in the house or not...I know she smoked while pregnant too. I know it can play a role in SIDS. So ladies please never Smoke around your babies or in the house!

It's one thing I am very thankful for that neither me or dh have ever smoked. xx

I have never smoked either. My mom and dad did, in the house and everything. My mom also smoke and drank through pregnancy. I'm surprised I'm not worse off, ha.
