I actually quit smoking for my boy sway last december so i have been smoke free for almost a year now but i am ashamed to say i did smoke when DD was concieved, while i was pregnant with her and even after she was born I feel so terrible that i wasnt able to quit for her, and if i had lost her to sids i dont know how i would have coped, the guilt would have destroyed me

Cinss, congrats on not smoking for almost a year. That's a huge accomplishment. I hope you're proud of that!!!

You are a good mama, Cinss. Congratulations on being smoke-free for a year! I had quit for forever, but started back up after my son was born, when he was around 6 weeks old. He was so screamy and colicky those first few months, and I felt like I was losing my marbles. I would bundle up, sneak outside on the porch and smoke, then come back inside, change clothes, and wash my face, neck, and hands. So silly and stupid, but I swear it kept me from falling off the deep end--not proud of it at all! Quit again after a few months of that nonsense--lol.
Love of my life: DS born 10/2010

    and due late May 2013! It's a sweet !!!

Don't be ashamed Cinss, nobody is perfect! I do plenty of horrible things. Congrats on being smoke free for a year! Being a smoker doesn't make you a bad person, it's just a poor choice but like I said we all make poor choices at times

I really hope my friend doesn't blame herself due to the smoking, it really could have had nothing to with it, it's one of those things you will never know so shouldn't feel guilt over.

I did everything by the book with ds1 and he has autism...so being perfect doesn't guarantee anything. Promising to be the best mother you can be does have effect though :-). Bad things happen to good people sometimes but they happen for reasons beyond our understanding. Nobody should have to go through what spinning did or my friend., but it's part of our reality And we need to realize some things are just out of our hands.

Anyone know a place in the united states that does sperm separation? Not Microsoft but the old fashioned technique. I hears it can be 90% Effective for a girl and is pretty affordable.

Hi Rosie - really sorry to hear about your friend its something no parent should ever have to go through.

We nearly lost our precious ds2 dylan when he was 2 and it was the worst thing i have ever had to live through - banished any gd i had with ds3 instantly - i was so grateful to have the healthy happy beautiful children i have and i am thankful everyday for them and for the fact that he was ok. At a time when i feel myseld slipping into gd again i remind myself of those feelings and blessed i am - i'm glad your bonding with your little boy, i'm sorry you didn't get your daughter but above all i am really happy he is perfect x
    Me, DH, the three musketers:

    DS1

    DS2

    DS3

    And our little princess

By the grace of god our precious little girl joined our family, hoping and praying for many happy years together

Rosie - I have been looking into HT and the Ericson method is really only 50/50 and I read that each IUI has a low % of getting pg....like 12% or something so it takes around 3-4 IUIs to get pg. After paying all that, you might as well try HT. Have you looked into your insurance to see about HT? For some ppl, it can cover a lot and for others...nothing. I am on the nothing list so looks like I will have to sway for #4.
