    Metformin and skipping breakfast?

I have tried to find infos online but no success. Anybody out there with the same problem? I don't know if I should skip breakfast and take the Metformin or take it at noon with meal. I just ate one cookie and took it this morning which stopped my trembling and shaking hands. Is that good or bad for pink. Thank you!

Don't ever take metformin if you haven't eaten! It's a big, big no-no.

If you do take your metformin, but skip the breakfast, then make sure you eat a snack with some sugar in it - if not your blood sugar can crash (I did it.. it really wasn't pretty!)

How many tablets do you take a day?

Hi, thanks so much for answering. I take 850 morning and evening. I took one last morning with a rice cracker. Today I will try to take it without food. Got a very bad diarhia last night and was wondering if it was because I ate less then 1000 cal. I am still not really sure about the food.

I've never had that, but I take 500mg three times a day. Might be because your blood sugar is low - I can get like that if my blood sugar is low, but I've never tried it in the morning. I take slow-release metformin tho as I reacted very badly to the normal ones, I dont know if that makes a difference.

    probably the metformin.

if it's that bad, you prob. should not skip breakfast - just go ahead and eat something
