Sunshiner, please don't feel bad. We all want the baby to be healthy, but GD is such an overwhelming feeling. Sending you hugs today. Do you think it would help you more to look at the gender, so you can at least start to move forward? Maybe you will get a nice surprise!

Mom to a blended family of 5 kids (3 boys, 2 girls), with one more due in late May 2013. We swayed for a girl, but have a sweet baby boy on the way.

Not only that but the scanner guy then called the baby and 'he' and told me my placenta was on my right which according to Ramzi is also boy side.. NOT what I wanted to hear. We had the gender written down on paper and now feel we may as well just open it so I can stat getting used to the idea; wish I had walked out of there still in 'ignorance is bliss' stage... No idea what to do now and feel like an idiot for being so obsessed with this when I should be thrilled that the baby is perfect and healthy
Ramzi does not work later on in pregnancy. It has to be very early on because placentas can move a lot.

My doctor's office calls all babies "he", it's their policy.

Shellbelle thankyou, it's such a support having you ladies here who totally understand.
Atomic, that has slowed my heart rate a little to hear that...I feel like I'm driving myself crazy with not finding out when I could easily just have asked an hour ago? Pathetic; I wish I was as brave as some of you to find out and get on with moving on.. Perhaps I'll post my 12 week scan for you to take a guess at instead.. x

So dh, who always acts like "we should wait till the baby is born to find out and be surprised," just texted me and asked if they could tell us whether it was a boy or a girl from our NT scan tomorrow. LOL. I explained a little about nub theory, and I guarantee you he's googling right now.

Sunshiner - sending you a big hug. I think if I were you I would have a look in the envelope, sounds like you are driving yourself crazy with it all. At least if you know you can either celebrate or get your head around it.

We're all here for you, don't feel bad - of course a healthy baby is everyone's priority but we can't help our GD either. xxx

I'm pretty OK with it, just not sure I'm ready to know for sure kwim?
