    Vitex

    Hi,
I'm hoping someone will be able to answer this for me!
I'm making some changes to my sway this month - dropping the lime douche and now taking Vitex, baby aspirin and Rephresh.
For Vitex, I've read it is best to take AF - O. I am assuming that is the first day of AF? Also, if I ovulate around day 22, do I take it for the full 22 days (or 21 days, so I stop a day before), or stop at 14 days?
    Thanks so much

Take Vitex CD1-14 or AF-O, whichever comes earlier. You tend to O late so stop taking Vitex at CD14. The idea is that you're trying to use vitex to replicate the pattern of an 'ideal' cycle, so by stopping at CD14 you're trying to nudge your body into ovulating around that time.

Thank you Lace, I thought that was what to do as I read that somewhere, but I wasn't sure why.
Thank you. I'm hoping it will make ovulation come quicker for me, although I have read it can delay ovulation in the first month.
    Thank you

Np! Vitex *can* delay ov but that's if you take it continuously. For me, taking Vitex made me O on CD15 last month with no false estrogen surges. The month before that I didn't O until CD36 and my usual norm is like yours, I usually O on CD19-22. So it certainly worked for me.

Wow, that would be great, as my next ovulation date will be a few days before Christmas! Would be lovely for it to be earlier, so I can have 'Christmas' off (including 2ww). Think I'm going to take January off anyway, so I can enjoy Christmas guilt free

LacePrincess, you've actually made my day, with the possibility I might ovulate mid, rather than end December. Thank you

With me I was paranoid and had to make sure I wasn't pregnant and take a test on like Cycle day 3 and then if that was negative I would start. Because you do not want to take it if you are pregnant.
After that I would take 2 Nature's Way 400 mg in the morning by itself, and I took it for 2 days in the morning by itself because I read that it absorbs best in the am for some reason..
It started out by giving me migraines, so I combined it with my other supplements and one of those was magnesium.
The migraines went away after that. I took opks 3 times a day so I could see when I was "about" to get a + opk and then I would promptly stop after that. It can suppress O if you don't hop off it.
And it was a very positive supplement for me, it moved my ovulation a whole 7 days earlier!
I actually got pregnant being less than 2 weeks on it but I miscarried after that. One cause was my thyroid was very low and I didn't realize it.. but after my M/C I took Red Raspberry Leave Capsules, Vitex, and all my previous supplements, and before my AF had a chance to return, I fell pregnant with this baby!!
I wish you luck in TTC with Vitex!

P.S. another thing that can happen that you should be aware of is multiple positive OPKs
that has happened with several women on here. It happened with me.

You're very welcome! Hopefully it'll work right away for you, but it might take up to 3 cycles to show its full effects so don't give up if you don't see any big changes in the first month.

Butterfly - wow, 7 days earlier would be great!

Thanks for all of the advice. I'll definitely use more OPKs to check when I ovulate.

Well AF has just arrived, so I hope my vitex and baby aspirin arrive quickly! I'm going to have to write everything down I think, there's so much to remember. I'm looking forward to not doing the lime douche this cycle though.

37 days this cycle, and we are now 35 days away from Christmas day (when I want to splurge and then have a month with no BD!), so even if the vitex has no affect, I should fit in another cycle before the big day!

I'm keeping everything crossed I fall this cycle.
