Again I never swayed but from discussions with other girl moms I think it's much more about limiting calories, lots of cardio/exercise and weight loss.
So how much did you exercise? Was it just cardio? What type of cardio? How many months were you loosing weight and on a low cal diet? I too am struggling with exactly what I should eat. Right now I am doing a low calorie (1100-1200 calories a day) diet with lots of calcium 1300mg and magnesium 320mg and low sodium 650mg and Potassium 1750mg. Just wondering what you did to get all those girls!!
    Love my (2006) (2009) (2013) (2014)

Is it important to make all the changes now, esp dramatically reducing salt intake along with the other diet requirements or are some of them only important leading up to ttc?
I am hoping to ttc in about 6 - 8 weeks so I am trying to get things sorted now.

Also I am dramatically reducing my calorie intake, but is something like that important this whole time or only in the few weeks leading ut to ttc?

I kind of find it hard to find things that I can eat, I guess there is prob not much. But what I am finding is that a lot of the food is pretty high in carbs, is this ok for the girl diet? For instance a lot of rice and pasta, I thought I could eat bread until I looked at the sodium in it, I think I saw a recipe here and will look that up. Are creamy sauces ok with the pasta? WHat about a tomato based sauce? I think we can't have tomotos but what about if it is cooked?

I am sorry for all the questions, especially if they have already been answered somewhere else. I can't believe I am so close to trying so I want to feel comfortable with my sway...I plan on getting all of the calcium and magnesium in my diet, no supps. What would I eat for the magnesium or would you all recommend supps more? Gosh I sound desperate dont I. lol
6-8 weeks is PERFECT!! I would start everything now for best results.

Any bread recipe you like is fine, you simply convert them to low sodium by leaving out the sodium and then using unsalted butter/margarine for the fat content. Or you can make French bread which should have no fat in it.

Here's a thread that has a few suggestions/recipes, although not as thorough as I would like for now.

    http://genderdreaming.com/forum/show...-pink-and-blue

It's prob. best to take a small amount of mag supplement since most of the foods that are high in mag are not strictly allowed on the girl diet.

It is ok to eat bread and pasta BUT they do have an awful lot of calories in them.

Yes, but they are very very high in calories and easy to go overboard.

I usually do snack so that is a bit of a struggle, but not as hard as trying to check the sodium in everything.

I thought I was allowed to eat jalapenos until I realised that the sodium was g not mg...that was disappointing

I have cut out breakfast but do have a few morning coffees, I was going to give these up but I think I read somewhere that they make you acidic so I will switch to decaf and just reduce the amount.

So is salad ok to eat, I could do that for lunch as long as I could add a little something to it like small cheese or chicken or something?

I am going to make some lo-sodium bread too.

And I am going to have to find a health food store to buy some cranberry juice without added sugar, I also noticed that the cranberry juice I did buy from the supermarket was no added sugar it had a certain amount of potassium in it, is that normal?
Eh, I personally think the coffees are ok. Switch to decaf if you like or even half-caf. I don't think you need to be utterly miserable to sway pink. Watch the amount of cream and sugar in your coffee though because this is a hidden source of calories first thing int he morning.

I think iceberg lettuce salad is fine to eat, with cucumbers. Cheese is strictly a no-no but low sodium cheese you can have. Or a hard boiled egg. I personally believe it's best to eat low-protein, about 40 G a day of protein so whatever you want to eat with your salad, you should consider how much protein it has in it.

Pretty much ALL foods have some potassium and you need it for your health. Cran juice is a great place to get it.

Unfortunately we don't know yet, but it just seems wise to err on the side of caution and skip breakfast for the 6-8 weeks prior to TTC. If you can't do it, that's fine, just be sure to do it a few days before O and during the 2WW because XX fertilized eggs seem to develop best in lower glucose environment.

You need more sodium and potassium than this - 700-1000 mg sodium and 2500-3500 mg potassium. This is for your health - you can DIE if you do not get enough potassium!!!!

Here is a link to a thread that has info from a lot of girl moms talking about the kinds of diets they followed prior to conceiving their girls.

    http://genderdreaming.com/forum/show...ms!-(PINK-DUST!!!)

I also know that a lot of the moms who want boys, did take things like vitex and antihistamines, not realizing that they sway pink.

Sorry to high jack this thread with a different question, but I was wondering if anyone else is SNACKING when they are having AF? I am just ravenous this cycle on AF. I had to have two hand fulls of cereal this morning along with my morning cup of joe. I then worked out ( cardio only for 60 mins. ) and was able to not eat until noon. I did good at lunch but right after dinner I had some meringues ( no fat or sod. in them ) but they do have 25g. of sugar!! UGH. I was still hungry after that and had a bag of no butter and no salt pop corn.

Man this girl diet is very confusing to work out. Would it better to eat more rice based dishes for dinner i.e. I was thinking of alternating between eating rice and pasta with either girl veges, or cottage cheese, or low salt cheese (if I can find some) and a little unsalted butter for taste? Is brown rice ok or is white rice better for the girl diet? I won't be swaying for awhile so I will be really interested to see if people do actually get girls more than boys using this diet and all the other sway factors? What serving of rice or pasta would you eat i.e. 1/4 cup per meal?? ?? I will skip breakfast when I can i.e. waiting for 4 hours from when I wake up until I eat something?
