I was just wondering how it has affected your cycle?? I am thinking about taking it to lower T, because I just cant drink that much peppermint tea!! !!! Is it ok to start it at the end of my menstrual cycle through O? Im just worried that it may make me O later, and then my LP will be too short because Im already pushing around 13 days as it is!!

I have taken it daily since March... I have noticed that with the vitex and saw pallmetto and other supps that I have become very reg in my cycle each month is the same to the point that I can chart the calendar with everything that will happen this month and have been right so far.

Thank you for responding PP! My menstrual cycle is quite regular so I wonder if I take the SP this month, and dont get preg if it will throw off my cycle next month?? Did it cause you to O later after you started taking it?

Your LP should not be effected by when you O. If you have a 13 day lp it should be that whether you o on cd14 or cd 20.

Oh ok Q-of-H! I was thinking that if it caused me to O late and then I start my period 10 or 11 or so days after, that it wouldnt give enough time for the egg to implant properly. I thought I read on a thread that your LP should be atleast like 12 or 14 days (cant remember which) for the egg to have time to implant or something to that affect.

Yes you do need a certain length of luteal phase for implanting and if you do not than you have a luteal phase defect which is a issue that you would have to fix so implantation can happen BUT when your luteal phase is fine that isnt an issue.Things like illness or stress can cause you to ovulate later than you normally would,i will give you the example of when i was ttc my last baby.I had tracked my cycles for 18 month and they were 28 or 29 days long,I would o on cd 15 or 16 and i have a 13 day lp so on the months i o on cd 15 i had a 28 day af and the months i o on cd 16 i had a 29 day cycle.Fast forward to when i was ttc i did not o until cd 19 because of stress and so my cycle would have been 32 days that month(i say "would have because i got pregnant that month).I hope that helps you some.

Ok, if you O later that does not mean that your LP will be too short at all. After you O, the place where the egg popped out turns into this thing called the corpus luteum and it produces progesterone for 12-14 days...this is true whether it takes you 14 days to O or if it takes you 3 months to O, your LP will stay the same unless something goes wrong with your corpus luteum.

You take SP from AF-O only.

Your LP should be 12-14 days, that is true but the length of your cycle will just get longer if you O later. So if it takes you 20 days to O instead of 14, you'll still have a 12-14 day LP after that (unless something goes wrong with that end of your cycle and SP does not seem to cause trouble with the LP). So you would have a 34 day cycle rather than a 28 day cycle but your LP should be exactly the same.

Thank you so much Atomic!! I believe I implanted last month but something went wrong and resulted in my period (heavy at that). So I was very concerned about making sure I didnt take something that may cause that type situation and hurt my chances of an egg implanting properly!
