DH's very thin cousin... just found out she's having her 3rd girl.

A friend of mine, VERY heavy.. just found out she's having her 3rd girl.

I think it has to do with habits and changing your lifestyle.. which neither one did obviously. LOL

I have two very close friends who have three boys each (one technically has four, she gave her oldest up for adoption when she was a teen).

My cousin has three boys (but went on to have a girl with a different mom for his fourth).

    My aunt has three boys.

I dont think I know anyone IRL who has three girls. Most of my friends are either pairs of kids (two boys or two girls). I have one friend who found out she is getting a pigeon pair yesterday (has a girl, expecting a boy). But she is the odd ball in most of the people I know. It seems I know more same-gender than not. Frankly, my social circle is incredibly boy-heavy. I don't know why, it's not intentional...just seemed to have happened that way.
A: "Owner" of the following brood:
-Our biggest surprise dude (L: 2009)
-Our rainbow little man (K: 2011)
-Our sway and pray little diva (J: 2013)
-Our lucky charm guy (S: 2015)
We may be done, we may come back for one more sway. Time will tell. At the moment, we are very content with our family!

My mom is one of three girls.

My best friend from childhood is one of SIX girls.

One of my best friends now has four girls.

One of my cousins had four boys before finally having a girl.

And I will have given birth to three boys when this one is born. Because we're a large family, I have several acquaintances who have 3+ of one gender, and none (or fewer) of another.

Mom to a blended family of 5 kids (3 boys, 2 girls), with one more due in late May 2013. We swayed for a girl, but have a sweet baby boy on the way.

Ouch Butterfly, I feel like your giggles is laughing at people like me. I'm quite thin and had my 3rd girl BUT I DID change EVERYTHING. So "obviously" it isn't JUST "habits and changing your lifestyle" or we wouldn't have people whose sways didn't work. Sorry if I'm being overly sensitive here but really, your post doesn't come across as very kind hearted given how many people here sway and get opposites anyway. Habits and changing your lifestyle are all well and good but if it was that easy, no one would have GD. There's more to it than that.

To the OP, I know LOADS with 3 of a kind. Loads with 2 and then an opposite, loads with PP, loads with BB, GG ... IRL I feel like I see that it really is overall pretty 50/50. At a kids party yesterday I had 3g, another friend had 3b, another 2g, one with 2b, one with bbg, and then 3 had the pp.

I apologize for the giggles. I just decided to put her because she's a girl and she's cute! It wasn't my intention to laugh at them or anyone. If I would have put the cheerleader I guess it would have had an entirely different tone.
What I was getting at is they changed nothing in their lives and ended up with their third girl. So I believe they would have had to change something, that was just my personal 2 cents. Although I realize that swaying is never 100% and I understand that a well. We are always just trying to throw everything out there so we can look at it and figure out what works and what doesn't.
I have also learned that some women just have naturally over acidic vaginal environments and aren't aware of it. I have an ex boss who told me she had that problem and couldn't get pregnant naturally and had to go to high tech.

thanks to all you ladies for replying. i know it is 50/50 at the end of the day. I guess I didnt include older people I know who have 3 of the same, 2 of my aunties, my MIL, my colleague, my husbands friend/work colleauge, an ex-colleague - when I think of it like that there are quite a few so maybe I will be one to get an opposite. who knows. I really think that 3 of the same is special in itself anyway and have never felt sorry for anyone i have come across who has 3 of the same. in fact (before I was even pregnant with my first) I knew a lady who had her third boy and i thought how adorable they all were a little pack of boys, mates for life. Sometimes I do feel it is pressure from society that makes you desire the opposite gender rather than a true desire for it ourseleves.

I have 3 boys, my cousin has 3 boys, my friend just had her 2nd boy, my brother has 2 girls, my brother-in-law has twin boys.. The majority of my friends/family all have the same gender. Makes me nervous TTC a girl!
