After 3 DS's, I went for my anatomy scan today and it looks like I am getting my girl. (Thank you God and gender dreaming).
I want to shout it from the rooftops I am so happy.
But do we tell people we know? With all 3 of my boys I pretended not to know until the birth although I knew from 32 weeks with DS2 and 20 weeks with DS3 (severe GD baby).
It feels like if I admit its a girl, it devalues the fact that this baby could just as easily have been a boy and we would have loved him just as much as his brothers even though I would have secretly been devastated.
It feels like if we say its a girl people will thing we are only having another baby to get a girl (which is the truth) but if we say we don't know or care it will be outright lying.
Only a very small handful of people even know I am pregnant ( not even my parents or kids know yet) so there will be a lot of comments coming through soon
Advice?

I think it looks worse to keep it all Top Secret Sh!t.
But...I don't give a rats ass what people think...I really don't. I will say its a boy or girl right off the bat and if there is an issue, as far as I'm concerned...its THEIR problem.
I think by sharing your joy, it will come back to you. People will be happy for you and just don't engage in weird conversations about gender. Life is too short.

I found out for this baby and we are having a girl after 2 DS's. The whole pregnancy was a shock but I was so happy I couldnt keep it a secret, like PP said, If you're happy share it with the world, those who comment negatively have issues themselves that you neednt worry yourself with
Enjoy the moment hun, congrats x

I think it completely depends upon the situation and the person. If you are talking to someone you trust and know they will be happy for you, then tell them if you feel like it. To complete strangers, play dumb or whatever you want to do in the moment, its completely up to you now that you know!!!!
Oh I am so happy for you girl!!!

Thanks. Still in shock.
My arch nemesis (sorry, boss) delivered a baby girl in the early hours of this morning which probably would have completely destroyed me if I didn't at least know I will get one too. I spent all of her pregnancy convinced/ hoping it would be a boy. So much for all the theories, she is the testosterone queen and she already has one boy.
Almost no one knows I'm pregnant so will wait for the hype from her to die down before I even reveal my pregnancy and by then I can decide to know or not.
DH is dying to ring his mother which means that once she knows, that entire side of the family/ friendship pool will know. Thankfully they are at the other side of the world

I've done the same in the past (pretended I didn't know) and I wonder the same thing about telling people if it's a girl. I intend to make up some story of why I needed a US and how the gender couldn't be more obvious. Yes, it's still lying, but it it keeps things amicable.

This is completely irrelevant to this thread... but I have super high testosterone and I have three girls, I think diet and overall condition of the mother at the time of conception must have a huge impact even more so than typically high levels of testosterone.
Congrats again! So happy for you!!!

Adia, you are right about the testosterone but it is one of the things that would be girl mums are trying to bring down.
She just doesn't fit any of the girl mom theories but there are enough sway opposites around here to prove that nothing is ever that simple

Isn't that annoying, someone who doesn't fit the profile at all but gets their (our) DG without effort...I could name a few people in my life that irk me incessantly when that happens.
One in particular just looked at the Chinese Gender Chart got prego the month that corresponded with a girl and after 2 boys BAM! had a girl. Life just isn't fair.
