Just out of curiosity, at what point evidence-wise would the recommended minimum time on the le diet be upped to 12 weeks?![]()

This makes total sense... now I am wondering if I should push back my attempt or maybe we will just do one attempt this month and keep it strict. I will be on the diet 9 weeks and a couple of days.

NO and this is why I cringe a little when this topic comes up. Some people do not have the weight to spare pursuing diet for 90 days. It has been disastrous for many, many people who tried to diet 90days before ttc and I just really really don't think it is a good idea for about 2/3 of pink sweaters to go for 90 days on diet before even starting to try.
Proceed with caution, ladies.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

Never, Because I am weighing other things into the equation besides straight success rates...
Safety, sanity, overall pregnancy rates, potential loss
12weeks is not a good blanket prescription for everyone. A LOT of people should not be on diet that long, at least not without ttc.
If 50 people sway doing 6 weeks diet and 28 get girls and 22 boys, then 50 people sway 12 weeks and 25 get girls and 15 get boys and 8 render themselves infertile, one gets divorced and the other goes into an insane asylum, then on paper it looks like 12 weeks is better but it is not.,!!! Thank you so much for saying that, Atomic!
I love that the theories and ideas behind the different swaying tactics here are backed up with facts and science. I love that we have data and spreadsheets to draw on. But what I love most is the acknowledgement that we can't sway in a bubble. We need to be able to do it while also still conceiving healthy babies that make it all the way to birth and maintaining intact physical, mental, and family health the whole time. It's so easy to forget how important it is to keep that in perspective.2007

Atomic, I am planning to ttc in May so that is about 90 days. Would it be a good idea to start VERY slowly on the LE diet for example having 2 meals ( which ill be doing because of Lent anyway) and just having vegetarian but not limiting too much calories or worry about nutrients? And when would be a good time to start the strict sway then?

A typical blood cell has a life cycle of about 90 days too. If you are able to keep your sugars low for the most part for at least 90 days, your A1C levels would drop and there is a link between lower blood sugars and girls, right? (A1C levels are the average blood sugar levels your body maintains over the cycle of a blood cell or about 90 days.) So, it tells your body its in hardship and to produce a girl over a boy. Probably has something to do with your pH levels too, but that's Atomics area.
Hope this information helps too!
(With this in consideration, it would be okay to 'cheat' on a number of occations without it being too big of a deal. It also gives -if I'm correct remembering- more of an explaination into why women with insulin resistance and PCOS have more boys along with horemone levels.)Last edited by greeneyes; February 9th, 2013 at 12:48 PM.
