    Arched back, nub points up?

I don't have a picture that illustrates this, but a friend and I were talking and she said in her experience that when baby has it's legs up and/or spine more curled into a U shape the nub points down more than it normally would if in a neutral relaxed position. She also commented that when baby's back is perfectly straight or arching the nub points up in the air more than normal and that both these positions affect the nub theory on angles. Has anyone noticed this to true? I thought it was interesting.

    P.S. She's a tech.

I have definitely noticed that arched backs (and sitting up positions) seem to create an angle when looking through confirmed girl nubs I think there is a reason they say the baby has to be flat to make an accurate guess!

An arched back would make the nub straighten or point down.

A curled spine makes it point up.

Arch your back. If you had a nub you can see where it would point!

I think it's opposite of what your friend said!

Well, testing it on my 7-month-old son (highly scientific here, lol) his penis points downward when I lift his legs up and his back curves. When I straightened him out it went back up more and a little more again when he arched a little. I didn't attempt extremes of this and I'm not sure if a nub in utero takes on different qualities than a penis outside.

I thought her comments were interesting and not something I'd thought about before, but had heard you can't guess accurately with a curled baby. I'll see if I can find another friend's pictures. She had three different nub shots at the same scan and the one with legs up and spine curved had a very girly nub pointing downward, the more neutral one pointed straight, and another one that showed a slight arch in the middle had it pointing upward and very boyish. She had a girl. This was what prompted the conversation actually. LOL

When I say arch I mean like a backbend. Curling would be a situp position. If I arch my back, everything would point down! If you are lying on your back.

This picture shows what I'm talking about. Back is arched a little and the nub is pointing way up at an angle from the spine and looking very boyish. Baby was a girl.

Yes, I have noticed a lot like this - but notice the baby is sitting up. I am not sure if arching has as much of an effect if the baby is flatter.
