Hate hearing comments off people too, I'm only just over 12 weeks so haven't had many. I know how much deep down I want a girl thou and I don't want anyone else except close friends to know. Think I'm going to be a bit snappy if I get any comments! We all just want a healthy baby at the end of the day so I really haven't got patience for comments like (wouldn't it be nice if you have a girl or I bet you really want a girl this time) if I want to say it to someone it's ok, but I don't think I will like hearing it from other people. Rant over now!, p.s been mega grumpy this pregnancy, can u tell!!

I think it's a bit mean for people to tell you they think you're having another of the same gender, and that they,re trying to be kind when they say they think it's the opposite, but either way it unintentionally sets you up to have to respond either with some sort of face saving comment, or to share some pretty personal feelings, and who wants to do that with your SIL's auntie in the aisle at the supermarket!

And thanks Wanting. Looks like I'll have to crack open the real computer then. Lillypie doesnt want to play with the iGadget..

    Congrats Northern!

Thorz, I'm only 12 weeks as well. My anatomy scan isn't until May.

When people ask about boy/girl preference I usually say that DH would love a little boy but I quite like the symmetry of 4 of the same.

It's okay to be sensitive... I am too I hang onto things that people say... I just come across really tough to others and always have.. It's a defense mechanism I suppose

Hey can anyone see my ticker btw? I seem to have managed to botch it somehow and haven't been able to fix it yet. Or maybe it's to do with my newbie post count?
    Can't see it sorry

Im so sorry for your scare. I hope it all turns out ok for you. I know its the last thing you want to hear, but if you do decide to do further testing Im sure it will put your mind at ease and you can continue on with the pregnancy not stressing about the ifs and buts....

Ps, in this pic its a very boy nub

I have my fingers and toes crossed for you that it all works out well. 10 months is a looooong time to go in a pregnancy and little hiccups are bound to appear along the way. This is your big one. Its come at a shock, but I know in a few weeks time it will just be an uncomfortable memory. with my first pregnancy I had no immunity to rubella despite having several vaccinations (my body just wouldnt build immunity) then at 10 wks I came up in a very rubella looking like rash all over my body.... It was a scary time as I had many blood tests over several weeks to check my teeters and we wouldnt know an actual result until the 3 weeks was up.
Anyway, it was all fine, still no explaination to the bizarre rash, but I remember at the time all I could think of was the worst, despite what my family was telling me. The worst possible outcome is such a small chance, soooooo many other reasons for your bloods being that way are much more likely, and much less a worry - if that makes sense

Keep us all posted, we are all here for you x x x

pps - my sister's NT scan sounds very similar to yours. Still overall the risk was "low risk" but she had very low PAPP-A and so her bloods bumped up that element of the calculations.
Her son is a happy healthy 15 month old now, and after she had her amnio it was such a relief. The blood test wasnt available then. My specialist told me at my 12 wk scan its only JUST become available here on the west coast, and same on the east, I know its expensive but alot less invasive than the amnio

I actually think its worse since taking them! What can I take or do to
help get me back to regular and FAST because I'm in actual pain because of it!
Yes, lactalose or actilax is safe during pregnancy and will work if the fibre is not. There are 3 types of laxatives, pushers, softeners and fibre.
Often just one of these dont work on their own. And fibre often isnt enough, once you have a plug down there (sorry TMI) if will need a softener.
Lactalose is a softener and will help soften everything in the bowel so your fibre can work to push it through.

My daughter has severe bowel problems so im an expert unfortunately!! I have used her lactalose from time to time during my pregnancies.
Here in Aus, you can just get it over the counter - you dont need a script for it.
Mix it with fruit juice not water - I find it far to sweet and sickly to just mix it with water, however my daughter has it this way and doesnt mind it x
    good luck!!
