ha ha bacon fries i've been craving ;-S

I've just made THE most amazing soup!

Full packet of smoked bacon with fat trimmed off and chopped
3 leeks chopped
3 medium potatoes chopped
Knob of butter
Water

Fry the bacon and leeks in the butter, then add the potatoes. Cover with water (and some extra!) and simmer until the potato is soft. Blend.

Its absolutely gorgeous and lovely and salty so its really good for the craving!

Its about 350 calories a bowl, so not the lowest but oh my goodness its tasty!! Makes 3 greedy sized bowls.

Hi Ladies,

I'm back from the anatomy scan and am so happy that the little guy looks absolutely healthy. They were looking for signs of "tricuspid regurgitation" that they thought they saw in his heart at 13 weeks (basically a valve that's not closing all the way) and couldn't find ANY. The head of maternal fetal medicine himself came in to double check and he said our little boy looks perfect! And yes, he's definitely ALL BOY still, lol. I have really gotten used to that idea now though. As long as I stay away from "the other side" of the baby clothing section at stores.

Also, little dude is measuring a full week ahead, so 19w2d, 68th percentile and his head is actually 96th percentile! OMG. Just like DS2 who was 9lbs6oz at birth. And he is estimated to weigh 10 oz already.

My placenta is anterior, just like it was with DS1. So this explains why I haven't felt much movement yet. I am a little bummed about it because feeling and seeing DS2 was absolutely amazing. But what can you do. Just so happy he's healthy and no heart or other issues.

Aaaaaand here's the picture (they gave me a dvd for free because DH couldn't be there since he had to watch the boys, saved me $10). His lips look really odd (puffy), but it was hard to even get this shot because he likes to smoosh his face straight into the placenta, apparently.

We haven't really talked about names lately. At some point both of us liked Evan Christopher (DH's name is Christopher). It's really hard when you're on your third of the same gender!!! I'm wondering if this time, we need to actually see the little guy first before committing to a name.

Salsa - we are hoping that our investment property will complete its sale on Friday. It was also our first home together and where we brought home DS1 (also where he was conceived ) But, we've been in our bigger house for 3 years now, and have completely renovated it and added an extension. DS2 and this little one were concieved here and DS2 was born in our bedroom, so it'll be sad to see this house go eventually, but I'm already getting itchy feet. Hubby is currently going through interview stages for a job 3 hours away, and i so hope he gets it because we can afford a house double in size down there, which means this girl can have a proper nursery and not share a room.

Wow that sounds so exciting!! I have my fingers crossed for you he gets the job. It will be exciting to do the extensions to our place, I just wish I could close my eyes and have all the mess and carry on over with lol

Salsa, how on earth are you not scanning yourself?! That is willpower. I would have done it by now and just not told DH.

Well I managed to refrain for the other pregnancies so I have to for this one too! But its certainly harder this time round!

Anyway, Ive been awake all last night with gastro! And still going today!! My kids had it a week ago and I thought I was pretty clever avoiding it back then especially as I was the one cleaning it all up! Its just awful, but hoping it will subside soon....

DS3 just broke out into a rash all over his body after having 3 days of a fever. I think that means he had roseola, but I'm not sure because it happened right after getting shots, so I think it was a reaction to his shots. Either way he is still cranky and sick. I'm not sure I will be able to make it to my scan in 2 days if he doesn't get better by tomorrow. I don't want to ask my friend to watch him when he is sick (DS1 and DS2 are going to go to the scan with us), she has 2 little boys of her own that I don't want to expose. I think I am going to call the dr to see if it is a normal reaction to these specific shots. Ugh, last time I had a scan coming up, DS1 was throwing up the night before lol!

Oh No!!! You've had bad timing with your scans and your boys being sick!! Poor little man - sending him lots of healthy vibes and hope it clears up so you can get to your scan. Kids bounce back quickly - you'd be suprised what they can come through in 2 days!! fingers crossed x x

Omg they give hep b shot to babies in the state?! Thats crazy ... Here we get hep b shots in grade 7

In Australia they get their first hep b shot on day 3 of being born!
