    Sunbutter?

    I found this product and wondering if it can be used to substitute peanut butter

    I don't know for sure...Looks like it may be okay in once in a while. You'd want to watch your fat intake w/it and also your protein intake could really creep up too. For what it's worth, if it was me, I'd include it in moderation, especially if I'm really craving it. GL!

    On a totally separate note, it's a great product to use for kids who suffer from nut allergies! My DS1 is severely allergic to peanuts and most tree nuts but he LOVES Sunbutter (or sunflower seed butter which is what it is).

    It has 20 grams of fat per serving. Not the most girl-friendly of foods. Actually I think reg. PB is prob. better because it has less healthy fats.

    But it is low sodium (better than PB on that) so it may be something you could eat from time to time in moderation!!

    Pinksapphire, that is great to know about the Sunbutter. Because my DS 2 is deathly allergic to pine nuts they tell me I can't give the little boys PB until they are 5, so I will def. check out the Sunbutter!!
