Jumping in here opening a can of worms
LOL I have often found this topic super interesting as I swear there has to be something to it at least for ME! Definitely NOT saying everyone as every single person is different!
OK so my super duper pink sway failed I could NOT have swayed any harder if I tried! I lost over 25 pounds I was bone thin covered in bruises douching temping dieting checking ph it was such a nightmare but when I did fall pregnant the only (2) things out of my control were the moon and the side I o'd on.
I have ALWAYS felt my O pains on the right side and all 4 boys were conceived from RIGHT ovary ovulation. (Confirmed via US) so for me I always felt this had something to do with it! My SIL has 3 girls all left sided ovulation (confirmed via US)
I only feel left sided O pains like 3 maybe 4 times a year I actually mark it down when I do feel it just to keep track. Such an interesting topic and I want to continue following it! Lots of luck to all who are trying to achieve their dream!

You actually had me in a bit of a flurry after reading your post! I ovulated from the right and am now 6 weeks pregnant - hoping for a little girl (I have 2 boys).
I just text a gf who is pregnant with her 3rd girl and she had a scan the cycle she fell pregnant and was told she would ovulate from the right side.
Also, I've read on this forum other anecdotal stories about women, who only have one ovary, go on to have both genders.
I would like to know the stats on which side the embryo implants vs gender... I really think that is a factor.DS1 -

Have you had ultrasounds with every month you ovulated though?? (I'm assuming not.
) So it is entirely possible that you Oed some months from the left side and felt pain on the right, and some times when you felt right sided pain, you may have Oed from the left, and it just is NOT reliable for people. So no one should rejoice or despair over it.
I'm not saying it can't work for some people, but we KNOW that it doesn't work for everyone, because there have been several ladies on here who were just as insistent that they'd Oed from a particular side and were freaking out over it, then lo and behold they had an ultrasound that proved they'd actually Oed from the other side (Zanacal among them).!!! I am one of those with only my left half that works and all 4 of my boys have been from the left...My right one dosn't work at all for the ovulating I had ectopic didn't know I was pregnant and got to 14-16 weeks and it ruptured did a lot of internal damage and I am lucky to be here that was my first ever pregnancy and I was only a baby 18. I was told my other would take over and I have never had a problem with falling pregnant and cm is always abundant. So the lil lefty does a good job on the hormones and maybe works a little to well....maybe thats why I have the boys ha? Hopefully in a few months time I will be updating this saying well got a girl from lil lefty!! <3
Hoping for a pink rainbow!

I really need an indepth essay on this but you hit the nail on the head Rainbow. The thing is, it's not something "magic" about left vs. right, but it's when you are superfertile you ovulate more often on your right and when you are less fertile you ovulate more often on your left. If you don't HAVE a right ovary, all the hormones and stuff go into the left ovary and it becomes your dominant one. It's the connection between fertility and what side you're ovulating from that matters, not the side you're ovulating from. Teh left side doesn't make "girl eggs", it's that most of the time when things are functioning well, people tend to O mostly from their right side for reasons we do not know. And when things aren't functioning well, lefty takes over.

I can confirm from experience too what atomic and rainbow baby said here, as I only have one DS but also have no right ovary at all (this was removed before he was conceived) so obviously he was conceived from my left one.
Hoping the lefty can make a pink one sometime soon too! fx fx
