I decided to start a blog. I needed somewhere to just express my feelings and not be judged about dreaming for a girl.

NavyWife I do think writing is a great way to get those feelings out. And I love the idea of a blog as it may even help people in a similar situation who find it. I will however say be careful. People who don't understand may find it and make some nasty comments. If you think you can ignore those comments then go for it. But being pregnant and hormonal and already in a place where you may feel guilty for wanting one gender over another, those comments could really sting. If you did go ahead and do one, I would read it though, just so you know LOL

LolaInLove I have to say me 2nd was my easiest so far but then that was because he just didn't want to wait and I never even had to push. DH even missed the birth because the midwife told him we had hours to go (I was 4-5 cms, home birth) and DS1 woke up so he nipped him to his sisters, a 20 minute round trip. Got home to see me sitting there with a baby.
Mind you having had a vbac I'm not sure how much, if any labour you went through with your first as you say it was due to position of baby. That vbac may have counted as a 1st labour. My 3rd was only 30 minutes longer than my second and the general labour was not too hard. Also as a big fan of home births myself I will say you are so much more relaxed at home that it really helps with speeding things up and with controlling the pain with out drugs. You have so much more freedom. I would think about how close you are to the hospital and how healthy you are and the likely hood of any issues. If your labour was quicker and you were more relaxed you wouldn't be as tired or as scared (although its normal to get panicky during that stage of labour, find some relaxation techniques to help with that) so could do it.
It all comes down to what you feel comfortable doing, if your not comfortable it wont help you. Good Luck.

Before he walked in the basement he said, "Well it llooks like Im going to have to go buy a gun!" Hes a weirdo! I think hes just nervous to have a girl. I am starting to get nervous too. Im so used to boys! ANd Im still in Denial! Im going to schedule a confirmation scan at 25 weeks!

I wanted to congratulate everyone on their healthy little ones. I have been on vacation so was unable to post. And lola you are not the only one with a huge bump. A shopkeeper asked me the other day if I was around 5 months along (oh and I LOVE talking to complete strangers about my personal business). Everyone asks if I know what I am having and I tell them I don't because they imply, or come right out and say, that I must be hoping for a girl. I feel that discounts DS2 who has had that ever since he was born (hardly any recognition of him from friends and family). I wanted him to be a son and he is wonderful and loves playing with his older brother.
My anomaly u/s is the 30th. I am pretty excited to get a pic of my little one and make sure she is healthy. After that, I am switching over to a midwife. My docs are the midwives backup if emergency occurs, but their practice is huge and you never know who you are going to get for delivery. Most are ok, but last time they threw me the new doc who despite me being in the natural birth center of the hospital, and labor progressing, decided to break my waters and then tried to give me pitocin. DH got the nurses involved on fighting that one and I ended up delivering my son 10 min after she tried to do that. Oh and 2 months later she was not at the practice any longer,so I doubt I was the only one.
Mom to 2009 and 2011. My joined us in October! Thanks GenderDreaming!

I have two blogs!! Well I HAD two blogs -- one is just to keep my family and friends updated, there's not much real writing on there but it's the one everyone follows. The second one was a private blog that was more like a personal diary, all about my desire to have a daughter. I deleted it once I heard boy though. There's no point in wasting my time on it anymore.

I think blogs are great too, and writing is indeed super cathartic!

Thanks for the birth advice....I am not far from a hospital at all, but my DH is scared of the home birth idea (this is his first...my girls are from previous marriage), so it may not be right for me in the long run for that reason. I just have this desire to have something different than before this time around. I don't like being in the hospital, and got dirty looks and nurses trying to hush me up when I was laboring naturally last time, which annoyed me. Plus I'd like for my girls to be there if they want to, which I know they won't let them do in the hospital.
(2002) (2005) from 1st marriage. TTC since Aug 2010- Dx: low sperm count and 1% normal sperm. We are giving up and moving on with a baby-free life.
UPDATE: surprise bfp in Feb 2013! It's a BOY!

    NEVER GIVE UP HOPE!

I would maybe go ahead and book for the home birth, and then you can labour at home as long as you want, with a midwife present so you don't have to worry too much medically. Then if you feel you want to transfer in then go in.
Obviously the stuff I said is just theory and whats been true for me, and I've only had 3 so far. There are some ladies on here with twice as many as me LOL

Also telling DH your just going to labour at home with a midwife there for support and to put both your minds at rest and then most likely transfer in will probably win him round a little then if you do end up having baby at home it will seem like it just got to too late a stage in labour to move and he will be so over whelmed with his new born son he wont care. Once baby is here safe the fear of 'what if' isn't really an issue because its in the past.

Just a quick comment on this, there was a lady on IG who made a blog and her little boy was born ill, she did receive alot of harsh comments about her previous GD, so maybe make one here and make it so only people on your contacts list can view it, that way you get it out but you know your safe
