Not sure where to post this, so I thought I'd try here. Sooo...I totally bought crib bedding for a baby girl this weekend! And I am not even pg yet!!! What is wrong with me?? Seriously, I have been thinking that if we have a girl, I wanted to do a pink and brown color scheme. I have gotten all 3 boys' crib bedding at Pottery Barn Kids (and have loved them), and honestly haven't really loved much of the stuff for girls that they have in their catalogs. So, had a little me time the other day, and went shopping by myself. I wasn't even planning to go in the store, but heard it beckoning...lol! Went in, and lo and behold, there is an ADORABLE pink and brown crib set on SALE! I debated and debated, but ultimately decided it was meant to be. Truthfully, I feel very confident that the next one is going to be a girl. I feel that I just KNOW this time, and that God's blessing is on this sway! Anyway, I only have 30 days to return it.
Wondering if I will regret it...that I am robbing myself of the joy of getting bedding after I've *for sure* found out I'm having a girl. (Not to mention the potential wasted $$.) Hmmm...
Anyone else do something similar?? This was not a $10 outfit at Carter's, ya know?![]()

I can't say I've ever splurged on something that expensive, but the amount of girl clothes I've bought over the years probably adds up to a lot of $$$. My DD would have clothing, blankets, swaddles, and hair bows for six months lol.
[2] healthy baby boy born in 2011
[21 weeks] Nov. 2012 Went for a scan at 20 weeks, baby measured 17+6, came back for a follow up scan and baby had passed away.
Lots of testing, no answers.
Moving on without my son's brother. Starting our HT journey in 2014.

I will admit I had an entire box in my attic that was collected girl clothes that I bought on clearance over the course of my childbearing.
It started with the first outfit back before I ever got pregnant for the first time and it was a darling little red, white, and blue Oshkosh bubble suit. Our family has a special get-together over the 4th of July every year (since before i was born) and so I decided I would buy it (it was on clearance after the season for like $2) and stash it.
Over the next 5 years I would snag the super-marked down clearance stuff and stick it in the box. I figured I could give the entire thing to my brothers if I never had a girl.
My now 4-week-old daughter will wear the bubble suit this 4th of July

I bought some girl stuff but when I found out ds2 was a boy I couldn't bear to keep it and gave it all away. I have nothing now and I need to stop myself buying girly stuff as I know it will kill me to look at it if I have another boy. I do like a bargain though
mummy to 2 beautiful boystime for pink i think

I bought a pair of little cowboy boots probably 6 years ago before we were even thinking about having kids. I love how I just assumed one of our kids had to be a girl... no such luck yet! They are somewhere in the basement and were the only and last girl item I ever bought - I feel like I'm jinxing things by buying pink stuff.. which is silly because I don't even believe in 'jinxing'. Anyways, if you love it then that's great you are prepared. If #4 ends up being a boy.. someone will get a very nice baby gift

We bought a bright pink baby hammock when we were 1/2 way through IVF/PGD more than 2 years back. Didn't fall pregnant and has sat in garage for a long time. Thankfully our swaying has brought us a girl because I have no idea what I would have done with it otherwise. We told people throughout the pregnancy that we didn't know the gender so we have had some awkward questions about the hammock.
Also seemed to have a lot of pink clothes that I had accumulated on clearance sales over the last 11 years. Way more than I remember buying.
If you consider it, the worst outcome is that you will have to sell/give it away in the future if you don't get your girl. But more likely she will soon be sleeping in it and you can tell her you believed enough that she was coming that you bought her bedding before you even conceived her.
I am a great believer in positive thinking. Good luck
