??? The answer is both yes and no.
If you ALWAYS ovulate later than average, then you should expect to get a BFP as everyone does, 10-16 days past ovulation. It doesn't matter if you O on CD 14 or CD 20, you will still get BFP 10-16 days past ovulation.
BUT if you don't normally O late, and it was an unusual thing for you, then yes, you would get a BFP after you expected AF. If you were expecting to O on CD 14 and get AF on CD 28, but you don't O until CD 20, then you can't expect a BFP on CD 28 because it's only been 8 days since you ovulated and the egg would not have had time to be fertilized and implant.
No matter what, you will get a BFP about 10-16 days after you ovulate. Some people may get one a little earlier.

Aaah ladies, why do I do it to myself?!
Tested with FMU today at 9DPO. BFN. Really BFN.
Not even a faint line or anything, just glaringly white.
I am sure I am out this month, just have a feeling. I thought I'd be okay but I feel really down about it
