Sorry I'm quickly becoming a pain in the you know what but here I am with another Q!
I will be starting clomid soon. I believe I have high T levels even though my Drs nurse hasn't returned my calls about having my levels checked. It seems hopeless to try and lower my T levels while on clomid, seems every supplement that could help is not recommended. I was previously drinking pepp tea but I just read I shouldn't be doing that. Besides losing weight are there other things I can do to safely lower T levels while on Clomid?

Maybe Saw Palmetto? That is what I am on. But I believe you cant drink peppermint tea and take SP at the same time.

This website Natural Solutions for PCOS: The Best Supplements : Naturopathic Medical Care, Missoula | Herbal & Natural Medicine gives some suggestions on ways to lower testosterone while on clomid. It is aimed at women with PCOS, so the suggestions are focused around managing insulin/blood sugar which then manages testosterone but these things may help those of us without PCOS too.

It is my understanding you shouldn't take anything that alters hormones while using clomid?? I hope I am wrong because like you I would like to lower T levels before hand..I know losing weight will help and its natural but as for taking anything...I think it effects they way the clomid works??
Hoping for a pink rainbow!

You can take saw palmetto or peppermint tea BEFORE starting clomid. You could start it 8,6, or 2 weeks (take for 2 weeks beginning after ovulation in the month before you plan to TTC) before - the only thing I don't really recommend is starting it 4 weeks before because the sp/pt can delay ovulation and 4 weeks is not enough time for it to work itself out.
Whatever you decide to do, you need to wait to have an AF before starting Clomid. You can't just take sp/pt for 2 random weeks and then start Clomid after you drop them - you have to start Clomid CD 3,4 or 5.
The other option is to use diet and exercise and lifestyle changes to lower your t levels.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

I have an article on here about swaying with PCOS that covers the supps that I think could be beneficial. I can't recall if I mentioned inositol in that essay but that one I do think can help and should be ok with Clomid because it is dietary and lowers testosterone that way rather than affecting your hormones directly like V and SP and Pep tea.
most of those supps mentioned in that article I would stay well away from, either not safe or sway blue!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!
