    Diet after bfp?

I got a very faint line this morning, and just got another on a different type of test, so now i am in miscarriage avoidance land!!

I've had 3, first was at 4+5 after no lines til 4+3, then i had dd1. Second was an accidental baby, i had been drinking loads of coffee in the 2ww as i didnt believe i could be pg so easily, baby died at 7+6 and i started bleeding at 10+3, which is when we founf out. Then i got pg again after 2 months, had an early scan at 7weeks which showed a 6 weel baby with no heartbeat, after 3 weeks of scans i had to have medical managemnt at 11weeks as baby didnt want to come out on its own! Then i had dd2. And this is my next pregnancy and im a bit terrified!

Please can you give me some advice about what i should and shouldnt eat to keep this pregnancy healthy if its a boy (i imagine if its a girl it will be healthy because of the nutrients etc)

Do i drop the amount of salt?
Do i need to keep up the amount of meat and protein?
Do i still need to eat protein and carbs all the time?
Is one prenatal, + 5x400mcg of folic acid a day enough?
Is it still 9xfruit and veg a day or can this go down?

    Anything else?

I know it wont prevent it, its more so i cant question and blame myself if it does happen again. I blame myself for the second one coz of all the caffeine - i wont touch it anymore if we are trying, not even coke!

    Thanks in advance

    Congrats on your BFP!

I would continue to take your prenantal, and avoid the things you normally would have to while pregnant such as too much caffine and fish that has high mercury content.
I also wouldn't eat a ton of salt
They say that boys need more nutrients so I would continue to eat your fruits and veggies but you don't have to go overboard and eat carbs and protein every few hours or so, no need to stuff your face full of food

I totally understand why you are feeling apprehensive.

I don't know how much salt you are eating at present but I never recommend more than 4-5000 mg max anyway and that amount is safe during pg.

I'd still try to eat protein and carbs regularly but you don't have to go quite as full bore with that. Like, eat breakfast and lunch, but not a snack unless you're hungry. And if you want a snack, you could have just fruit but not fruit + protein.

I would not cut back super far on ptotein, keep eating 90 g a day

Continue supps at that level thru the first trimester

9x a day fruit and veg is great, just do you bes with it.

Please do not blame yourself, there are people who do literally everything wrong and have their pregnancy work out just fine. Everyone blames themselves but 99 times out of 100 it was nothing that anyone did.

One thing I would recommend is making an appointment with either your OBGYN or family doctor to have your thyroid checked, that can be one cause of losses that most peopel are unaware of.

Thanks as - i actually can't seem to stop blaming myself, there are too many things i can say werent right and this time i need to know i did everything right so i have nothing to blame myself for.

The third mc i took ba, on advice of the midwife, and the baby died at the same time i started taking it - so i wont touch that now either, and is another reason im questioning the omega 3, as if it does the same might it be a bad thing to keep taking it?

Thank you for your help, it is really appreciated more than you know!

We have tons of people on here taking both BA and Omega 3. Some of the HT ladies take doses of both of them that are way way higher than anything we take. Coincidences do happen.

The one thing I do believe is that it's best to have started the blood thinning supps BEFORE conception rather than starting them IN pregnancy. I doubt that's what caused your loss, but if you start them in advance of conception, at the least you have allowed your body to adjust to them beforehand.
