O-M-G I would have slapped that person. I'm sure your boys have moments, and given their age, I'm sure that's quite regular, but I can tell you mine are exactly the same and I'm yet to meet anyone with a young boy that's not, especially true for women who have more than one quite close together! But they grow out of it, how many 10-15 year olds do you see acting like menaces in cafe's or supermarkets? In fact by 15 most of them are glued to their headphones and ipads and wont even say hi, let alone scream the house down! I feel like I know you and you WOULDN'T let them get away with everything, and would definitely be doing your best damage control. Boys have so much testosterone, mine go mad in winter particularly (now) because they need to get outside and run it off! I am constantly breaking up fights, telling them to be quiet, share, stop throwing etc, but THEY BLOODY DO IT ANYWAY and there isn't a thing I can do other than keep being persistent and consistent with the rules. Eventually they will get it, in the meantime they ARE monsters, often!!!

Another school meeting...
And I wanted to punch somebody in the face!!!
"Congratulations!!! Ya know my daughter's gym coach has 5 boys."
"Trying for a girl, huh?"
No. We were trying for a healthy baby, A $$ HOLE!!!
It makes me so angry...like I won't love this baby if it's a boy.
My blood boils. Ugh.
Sorry ladies...it's just so frustrating!!!!Proud mom of 3 sweet boys...
and one BEAUTIFUL little girl!

Beadin - Uggghhhh. I would have been pi**ed, too! Got to skip out on our girls' night tomorrow (DH has to work late), but I'm delaying the inevitable, as our group (along with hubbies and kids) has a social Friday night. I know I'm going to have to announce then. Need to brace myself for the comments. NOT excited about that AT ALL.
Soar - Have an awesome vacay!
Nita - Congrats on your sweet baby girl!! So happy for you...and wonderful news that they saw no markers! There are so many false positives on those screenings, I honestly highly doubt she is anything but perfect!
Black&gold - Taking note of your change!
AFM - Think I've been feeling a little movement the last couple days. YAY!! I was told at my 11-wk scan that placenta was "right in front"...so I'm assuming she meant anterior. Had the same thing with DS2, and barely felt movement till 18 weeks...so hoping maybe this time placenta is slightly off dead in the front so that I can feel things sooner. Hoping what I've felt the last day or two is the real thing!

Nita, so cute!
Beadin - you made me remember what my mouthy (and therefore very good) friend replied when asked if she was trying for a girl "yes i make Mark wear high heels and a bra when we have sex!" I laughed for about a week and the person she said it to felt a bit stupid which was a bonus! Having said that they then hunted her down at the next play date and bored her stupid with their ideas on old wives' tales. Ah, if only there was a mute button IRL.
Thanks Meeks I needed a bit of a boost today as have just received an email saying that DS1 got in a fight at school.Another child started it so it was just one hit back in retaliation but not ideal especially in the first 2 weeks of school. Ironically he has self-defence class this afternoon which is clearly a waste of time and money as he seems to be able to do that a little too well already!

Beadin - got a similar stupid remark while doing my glucose test today! The lady asked what I had at home already and then said the usual "Oh so you're wanting a girl obviously" which I replied "We'd be happy with either". Why is it assumed that I'm having another just to get a girl. We wanted another baby.. because 2 felt to little for our family and quite honestly.. since I already have 2 boys.. another boy would be the best situation for other 2 because there's nothing like same gender siblings. Yes, I'd love a girl... but I wasn't that silly to think #3 was definitely 100% going to be one! We did it because we wanted another child!!! Oh man.. the joys of peoples comments!
Myrainbowgirl - I'm sorry you have to break it to your friends, that's honestly the worst. I remember having to do it with DS2 (I didn't even want to announce DS1 being a boy) and it's never fun when you know you likely won't get encouraging words and you'll leave feeling even more depressed! We all know how that feels.. all to well lol so you are not alone
Nita - amazing news about baby! Is this your first? Congrats and I'm sure you probably have nothing to worry about!
So I think I asked this once before but now that we all know genders - what have your babies heart rates been? I know it's a total OWT but it still gets my hopes up and down every time! With both ds1 & ds2 it never was over 145.. even when they were bouncing around. This baby has been 150's, & 157 at 20 week scan which naturally made me think.. "could it be..." but today at my prenatal it was 147 so now i'm like "total boy" LOL! Curious to hear about your babies!

Quite the contrary, self defence classes and martial arts classes seem to teach quite a lot of self restraint as a first port of call. They also often teach how to reduce rather than escalate a situation, before finally ending in the actual self defence parts. My best (also mouthy, haha) girlfriend in school was a black belt in karate and never, ever got into fights, and now is the most peaceful calm person I know! She always talked about how to avoid fights not cause them, but being equipped just in case you can't.
