I do the same with all the food I give my kids and dh - I make them meals they love but that I'm so-so about - things like fish sticks, sausages, mac and cheese, that way it's not as hard to eat my plain pasta. So basically, pizza has been banned in the house since I started the diet - that's one thing I'd NEVER be able to say no to! The best part is the kids are trying some of the special meals I make myself and they love them!

I think it sounds like a pretty good day too - could have been far, far worse!

I lost another 2.5lb this week. It feels like it should be more but I probably shouldn't grumble at 8.5lb in 2 weeks

How have you guys felt doing the low everything diet? How has your sugar levels been or how has the highs and lows been? I have decided to pretty much do the IG number in fear of the highs and lows of my sugar and that with me when I eat a lot of carbs I don't stop...lol

My glucose both times was at 80 (65-99 was the normal range) after eating a large meal and a lot of carbs (I cheated those days , when I didn't know what was going on, so my sugars seem to be doing well), but it still makes me nervous to eat all those carbs and my sugars going through the roof and staying there.

The one meal (dinner) I have my carbs rice and pasta, I do my exercise 30-60 minutes later. Exercise helps you regulate your blood sugar.

I've been doing alright with the blood sugar lows. I always carry something sweet with me when I'm out and about with the boys just in case I start to feel faint (there's a history of diabetes in my family, and though I don't show any signs of it yet, I have fainted from low blood sugar a couple of times in my life). I'm finding this diet far easier to follow than the IG one since it allows so many more foods. Balsamic vinegar has been a gift - it helps so many otherwise bland foods taste good - even my kids have started saying "Everything tastes better with balsamic vinegar on it! "

I'm not including exercise as part of my sway, and I have no idea what my carb-heavy supper is doing to my blood sugar, but I know I'm getting several hours of low blood sugar overnight and through the morning + in the afternoon after a light lunch, so I'm hoping that's enough.

That's fantastic, zanacal!!! 8.5 in 2 weeks is really good!!!
Jj, I also feel my blood sugar drops low enough and I do prefer the low everything diet as it is more flexible and it just makes sense to me! We're all doing so many different elements all the time, it's so hard to know what's swaying and what is not. Fx we all get our dg!

I'm finding the diet surprisingly easy (although ask me after 2 months rather than 2 weeks and I might say something else!). I thought no breakfast would be hell but I've got used to it. I get really, really hungry mid morning but I have a coffee with sweetener and that sees me through until lunch. I'm also very hungry before dinner and often when I go to bed - but strangely enough not gagging for breakfast in the morning. I kind of like that I get hungry, I'd almost forgotten what that felt like! If I was doing this diet simply to lose weight then I've no doubt I'd cheat but because the reason is bigger than that I'm not tempted.

That is how I felt but I am finding it a bit more difficult now. I still finding skipping breakfast easily and lunch us ok but I'm fed upon dinner - I just feel so unsatisfied!!!! I don't know whether the length of time on the diet is making me bored or whether my body us getting more deprived with each day!! Today looked like this:
    Breakfast peppermint tea
Lunch toast with jam, actimel, yogurt
    Snack strawberries
Dinner cauliflower with balsamic to start! Gf pasta with boiled courgettes, leeks and Parmesan
A few sugar free sweets during the day!!!!

I feel the same way as you zanacal.
I never thought skipping breakfast would be so easy. I actually like the feeling of low blood sugar now because I think itīs what all girl moms feel and I never felt it when TTC the boys because I was always snacking. I have a hard time when I see or smell certain things, otherwise Iīm doing fine. And the little girls I see during the day keep me motivated.
