Oh and when the second midwife who I hadn't met before asked about the gender of my others and what this one is I was told "I should quit while I'm a head, mind you with 4 boys I don't know if you're really a head anyway are you" followed by laughter. Good thing I'm not an hormonal, easily annoyed, heavily pregnant woman who although she wanted a girl gets very defensive over all boy families isn't it.....oh wait.... thats exactly what I am.

Lola, so pleased your doing so well
How is the work situation going???
I have to say that I know of nothing that actually starts labor apart from a good sweep, which for me has delivered a baby 3 days later on 3-4 occasions, would you consider DH maybe having a rough old rummage?? I think the pineapple one is that you have to eat the core which contains the bromeleine, I tried this 2 babies ago, ate a whole pineapple core and all! and only ended up giving myself orange squits during laborso I wouldn't recommend this one lol!
Katie, great news on having a date!!!!! I wish I knew if I was gonna be a Oct or even Nov baby as I'm due the 29th!! So officially I still could be in the wrong thread!!
I wonder whos gonna be 1st! Strawberry I reckon its you

Yeah it could be anyone on the team so hopefully not one of them. Still even if it is, hopefully it will just be a repeat of the others and she wont be here long LOL
Lots of braxton hicks and period type pains tonight, kind of exciting because I know that in a few weeks these pains will turn into the real thing.Feb 2006

Hi ladies! I'm in total nesting mode here and have a question for you all....I have a whole pack of medela breast milk storage bags that I found leftover from DS2. That means they are three years old. Do you think they are ok to use?
Oh and back to add that I ate an entire fresh pineapple the day before my water broke with DS1....firm believer here! Lol! We dtd a lot, too, and I have heard that helps bring on labor, too.Last edited by Lld2006; September 21st, 2013 at 05:57 PM.

I would say that they are ok as long as they don't seem brittle or weakened
Elp-I would say your guess is possible, except then I probably won't end up going til 41 weeks. She did drop last night and and is putting the pressure on.
I have to say that I used to envy the countries with universal healthcare, but the more I read about people's experiences on here, I am glad that I have the choices that I do. Wish that there was a middle ground for everyone.Mom to2009 and

Most midwifes that I have encountered are great, the only issue being that as you see the one at your doctors surgery, and its a team of midwifes you kinda get who ever happens to be working there that day.

I don't think it helps that this pregnancy has turned me into such a moody cow. I wake up angry in the morning, and have got next to no patience.

Ugh MOB, that is disheartening! Hopefully like someone said, you will go quick and easy and not have to deal with anything/anyone too much.
Thanks for the labor starting advice....I would be inclined to not care but I don't want to have the section because I'm too overdue. Not sure if they will strip membranes or not....they said no induction, meaning pitocin, etc, which I wouldn't want anyway, but I'll ask next appointment. For now, I'm come down with a yeast infection, which is of course not helping my comfort level AT ALL! I never get them, I bet it's from trying to start dtd and such. I got some good probiotics and trying to beat it naturally. I am curious if I should get the meds though, the cream you inject up, etc. Not sure if that is recommended when pg but will call midwives tomorrow and ask.
