When I was pregnant with my daughter, we found out I had a B12 deficiency. It was so bad I didn't absorb the folic acid and after 13 weeks of pregnancy she was diagnosed with anencephaly. We had to let go of her, which was heartbreaking. I wanted nothing more than to have another baby. And I became obsessed with being healthy. I took pregnancy vitamins, 5 mg of folic acid and shots of B12 every 8 weeks. I feel the B12 is the reason why my sons are alive today and it's very important for me to stay on them as I get nerve problems when I'm not getting them. I'm still intending to go HT, but I do like to plan ahead and consider swaying in case it doesn't work for us. But do I have a shot at a good girl sway when I'm on these tremendously high B12 dosages? Even if I did everything right swaying wise: LE, excercise etc. would the B12 mess everything up? Of course we always have a chance, but B12 is a strong blue swayer, am I right?

Could you attempt just before your next injection is due? If it's needed for you though then it's needed. I would think since you are chronically deficient that would work in your favor...

Yes, I've considered that and if I sway it will be my only option I guess. But when i conceived my daughter, my B12 was around 127, now it's over a 1000 (don't remember the exact number, but it was huge). Even after 8 weeks it drops really slowly. I'm a vegetarian, so that's prob why I conceived my daughter back then. And B12 deficiencies tend to occur more in vegetarians. But with the B12 injections, I take the whole advantage of being a vegetarian away from swaying, KWIM? Of course loads of women conceive girls while eating meat and even with B12 shots. I just wonder if there's anything I should be doing different. I think I should purchase a swaying plan from Atomic, she will know what to do

I am so sorry for your loss, D-A.
First and foremost, beyond anything for swaying, you HAVE to do what is best for your health and that of an unborn child.
When it comes to nutrients, while I do think the B12 does sway blue pretty effectively, no nutrient sways in isolation like that (with the exception of the Vit. D and even that is no magic bullet). So if you were doing other things to sway pink, they can counter the B12 to some extent. I can't say how much.
In terms of B12, most people's bodies store up YEARS of B12. B12 deficiency is uncommon for most of us, the exception are people who are vegetarians/vegans for many years and then people who are genetically predisposed to have trouble storing/using B12. The average person has plenty of B12 to begin with, and Dana-Alicia, I suspect that even if you took a break from the shots for a couple months that it would take some time for yoru levels to drop if you took a little more time between shots.
What I would probably have you do in a custom plan, would be to possibly lengthen the amount of time between your shots - so more like 3 months or even 4 between shots, and then at the same time i would have you do a less strict sway in other ways, in order to ensure that you would hopefully get pregnant almost immediately. We could do diet and no B12 for 3 months OR even just stick with your normal schedule of every 8 weeks between shots, and TTC just before you were due for your next shot, when your levels were lowest. I would def. have you continue the high dose folic regardless.
Schedule might look something like this:
Have B12 shot month 1 and start diet and high dose folic.
month 2 - continue diet.
month 3 - TTC and either take this month off B12, OR plan to have shot just after you ovulate, 8 weeks after last shot. I would have you use a more relaxed sway this month in order to up odds of conception.
Month 4 - if you skipped the B12 in prev. month, you could TTC again this month just before having your shot. Or if you were not comfy with that and had the shot at the 8 week mark, then you could take this month since you just had the shot in the prev. month. Or, you could TTC with a very strict sway using all the sway tactics and just accept that it would prob. be BFN.
Month 5 - by the time month 5 had rolled around, you would have been on LE Diet for quite some time and I would probably just have you continue TTC every month, but possibly with a stricter sway in the months where you got the B12 shot and a more relaxed sway in the month where you were 8 weeks out from having had your shot. The goal would be for you to hopefully get pregnant in one of the months you were as far from your shot as is feasible.
Sorry I know that's a bit wordy and we do have a language barrier so please let me know if that was unclear.
RE the custom plans, I always appreciate the custom plans because it enables me to do this as a job rather than having to go to work, but I will always continue to help people in the free forums too, to the best of my ability.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

the concern is, we don't really know WHY vegans/vegetarians have more girls than the population as a whole. the lower levels of B12 may play some part in that. So i don't want you to ~necessarily~ rely on being vegetarian as counteracting the B12, because vegetarianism may sway pink at least partly because of the lower levels of B12 (sorry a bit esoteric point there)
Now that having been said, we have some good data from other mammals that show that higher carb, lower protein AND a higher % of fat from vegetable Omega 6 sources like margarine, corn oil, vegetable oil vs. Omega 3 and animal fats (saturated), do seem to sway strongly pink as well. My thinking is that it is a confluence of things that make a vegetarian diet more pink friendly - higher carb/lower protein, more Omega 6 fats and fewer Omega 3 and saturated fats, and then things like B12 levels ~probably~ come in importance only after those things.!!! Thank you so much for your answere, Atomic. It is very helpfull! Also good to know it takes years for the B12 to go down, which makes me consider not taking it for a few months and once I get pregnant, I can start on the startingdose again (which is 2 times a week for 5 weeks). I think that is safe, would really have to rely on my body and listen to the signals. If I start to feel shaky or depressed, I know it's time for another shot. I am very fortunate to get pregnant every time we have unprotected sex. Even with my daughter, I was on an extreme LE diet for months. So I do feel quite confident I'd get pregnant quickly. Thanks, I do feel like we have a plan now if HT fails for us. And I will def purchase a plan from you. You put so much time and energy into this, it's only fair and I believe it ups our chances

I do want to reiterate that it may be that your body may have more trouble storing B12 than the average person so just be sure to err on the side of getting the shot when you need to!
Wishing you the very best of luck Dana.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

Yes well it seems like something that runs in our family as two of my sisters (I have 3) have B12 deficiency and one of them is a vegetarian like me and the other one is a huge meat eater. But I was tested on the intrinsic factor and homocysteine and it came back fine. My doctor concluded from there it was my diet, not a problem with me being able to absorb or store the B12. I have disagreed with him, as my sister has the same issue while not being a vegetarian. But thats a battle with a doctor I can't win :s As soon as we move to South Africa, I will be looking for a good doctor to sort out my immune issues and everything, to see whats causing my illnesses etc. I used to take health for granted, but too much is at stake now with having a family. I will def take your advice to heart and be on the safe side. No one should jeopardize their health for gender desire. It's just not worth it. So thanks again!
