So I got my second beta level - it is 18,201. It didn't double but the nurse said it was "rising appropriately". Do you all think I need to be worried? I mean, I am already worried b/c I just want to know that the baby (or babies) is where it is supposed to be but now it didn't double either. I have read a whole bunch online about it still being ok if it went up by like 60% or whatever but I am still kinda freaking out!!

I think you are much further along than you think you are somehow.

Beta levels stop doubling once you are in the range you are in. That is normal and expected. They do not continue doubling forever. I know it's tough but you are just going to have to wait for the u/s at this point. I think everything is just fine.

^^^WSS. I think you are further along than you think. There is some research that suggests that very high hcg levels early on can be a soft marker for downs, which is probably why your doc wanted to check it out. But I think nbp is right, you're further along than you think.
