Finalizing sway plan- quick question about frequency

Atomic has been recommending DTD every 4 days then another attempt at pos OPK - best of both worlds

for anyone who needs to increase odds of conception (such as they are on Clomid) or is having a hard time pinpointing ovulation. But for people just starting off TTC then I would stick to one and only one attempt at pos OPK if at all possible

Thanks so much for your input Atomic!! I think we will go with a release every 4 days and one attempt at +OPK. I getting so nervous- I should ovulate next weekend!!

Sorry just butting in!

We plan to start ttc next month. I'm having trouble pinning down ovulation, my cycles are average 31 days over the last year and a half but go from 27-40 days long and are never the same length each time. I have tried OPKS but dont always see a positive. I always see the 2nd line getting darker and then almost as dark but only seen a positive a few times. I didnt see EWCM last cycle but have seen it other cycles. I dont know that I do ovulate every month and I know its under threat because of my low weight. DH will be 38 in March.

Anyway I'm thinking from reading above that dtd every 4 days unprotected and on the +opk day IF I see it would be best for me - is that right?

One attempt IS enough if you do it at the right time and don't use 7 zillion other sway tactics (most of which have gotten barely better than 50-50 anyway)

One attempt is sitting at 75% regardless of timing and frequency. I and several others got girls DTD every 4 days thru the cycle, because it means you effectively have one real attempt in fertile window.

Is there a certain time of day I should be taking my opk?

I heard second morning urine after a four hour hold is best. With that said I usually use fmu. I plan on doing fmu and then testing again in the evening around dinner or before bed during my attempt cycles.

double check the brand of your OPK to be sure because there is one kind that does need FMU, but most are best after lunch.

So the one attempt at opk....can this be done with abstaining or is this best done with the every 4 days release only? Or does it not matter much? My husband and I fall get pregnant VERY easily.

the number of attempts is divorced from the frequency, so you can do both, one or the other, or neither.
