Yes I'm from Perth and starting to sway right now! Ovulation is late next week so I've been exercising like crazy amongst other things. I'm seeing my naturopath this afternoon so she can give me their girl diet which I'll combine with elements I've learned here and IG. They only instruct to diet between the end of AF and O so that sounds easier for me but I've been busy with lots of other sway things already.

    Great to meet you!

Hi luvmykiddies & gidgetbeach,, good to see there are still some locals gathering here! Many of us are in late stages of pregnancy and have drifted away from GD. If you want to get in touch with any of the old gang for local suggestions of foods/supps etc, or just a social chat, you're welcome to join our group on Facebook - just PM me your email address & I can invite you in. Nowhere rivals the beautiful information and resources you'll find here, but you'll usually get support in current timezone on FB!
    Good luck with your sways!

    Hi all,

I'm from Sydney and just joined GD a couple of weeks ago. My DP and I are hoping to start trying for a girl in March.

I've been easing myself into the LE diet over the past couple of weeks, but have been finding it difficult, as I'm used to eating throughout the day and eating a pretty hearty breakfast!

Has anyone else started the diet plan yet?

I've seen my naturopath and was a little underwhelmed with just a list of acid forming foods that I'm supposed to have. She also said to stick to it for just two weeks a month as that's healthier and frankly as a health nut, that suits me just fine. Sitting down now to do my colesonline order and write up my meal plan for the week. Mixing LE with acid forming foods. My question to you all is what should I have for breakfast to get me through the one hour of aerobics or running I do 930-1030 each day? In this Perth heat at the moment there is no way I can go without food doing such intense exercise. In terms of diet to diet, I've been losing about a kg a month for 4 months but now I'll step it up a notch, though at 56kg and 1.67cm I don't have much to lose.

Would a smoothie be a good option for breakfast? Say with low-fat milk, yoghurt, mixed berries and maybe a bit of banana and a small handful of nuts or seeds? I think you need some protein before you work out, so this might give you enough to get you through your workout and isn't too bad on the calorie front. Or you could alternate each day with a one-egg omlette or scrambled eggs (although I think we're only meant to eat eggs in moderation).

I find that hunger-wise I can get through the mornings okay, but I feel so energy-depleted and foggy-headed that it makes it difficult to concentrate on work or anything really!

I lost 2kg in the first week I was on the diet, but have put 1kg back on. I'm perplexed, as I feel like I've cut my calorie intake down by about 75%.

I'm currently just under 53kg and 163cm, so probably a similar build and BMI to you, but need to lose a few kilos to get to my lowest adult weight, which is around 47 kilos (or maybe 48, as I dropped to 47 kilos a few years ago after a death in the family and I stopped ovulating for six months).

I'm also usually pretty health-conscious, so am struggling with the idea of lowering our nutrient intake. Before I conceived both my boys, my DP and I followed a very strict naturopath-devised preconception plan that was all about becoming as healthy as possible in preparation for conception, but having read a lot of the info on this and other gender swaying sites, I can see that the plan I was following then was very boy-friendly!

Thanks for your breakfast ideas! I think I'll go with that in rotation with oatmeal as I had plain yoghurt this morning as I hadn't finalised my eating plan and I'm feeling very hungry! As I still wasn't organised I had water crackers with sesame seeds with hommous and cucumber and a coffee. I was going to follow the naturopath plan but as I was so basic I've decided to mix that with LE and perhaps smidgins of IG. Now I'm busy researching and planning.

Killed myself with high impact cardio at the gym, so I can tick that box and after looking at the stats for that in GD I'm really hoping that gets me over the line. I hadn't really done much cardio except for walking up to 4 months ago so I've out in the groundwork with that at least.

I just finished a 4 month detox with my naturopath so I'm in tip top condition, so now I'm just taking folic acid and hoping I can reduce my condition a little. I've been on supplements for 7 years so that would have contributed to my two blues, that and the first was ivf and the second a surprise. As a result of them being babies conceived at ovulation I will do Shettles (read the book and saw a gp who specialises in it). I figure doing the opposite is prob the best thing for me.

Yes giving up the green smoothies and nutrient rich foods is very hard indeed isn't it? I really hope this doesn't take long (not three years and ivf like my first!)

I tried to get some chitosan from the health food shop but the woman working there said I was nuts (when I told her why I wanted it) and then started telling me to read some book she read...anyway I have decided just to use psyllium after her outburst as I have it already. I'll go back in when (hopefully) preggo with a girl and tell her the chitosan worked a treat! But really I won't be going back there again.

Husband is taking OLE as he has off and on during the years - the results (though from small sample) were great in the stats.

Hi everyone, it's nice to meet you all!

Lollylegs, it would be great to get some info on some of the local foods as I'm really struggling to find things in Australia that are suitable for the LE diet. I have pm'd you my email address so look forward to hearing from you.

zara-b I have started easing into the LE diet, mostly doing one day on, one day off at the moment just to get some practice in before I get into the full swing of it. I have been skipping breakfast almost every day though, which is a big change for me, but I'm not ttc until May and don't have a huge amount to lose so I don't want to get into it too early.

    Good luck ladies

Luvmykiddies you seems very organised indeed! Good work. I have been preparing for over a year but I feel I'm a bit rushed now that o day is looming and I'm not actually prepared at all.

Lollylegs I've pmed you for food ideas - thanks so much.

Just saw gp and my post partum thyroiditis is still quite bad and my levels such that I doubt I'll get preggo this month anyway or for 3 months or so have now upped my thyroxin so I hope it works...
