    atomic - bread?

Hi! I could have totally dreamed this haha but it seems like a long time ago I read somewhere that you were not a big fan of bread on the LE diet? I cant remember why.. if you thought it was high in nutrition? Did you eat a lot of sandwiches during your diet? I know there are no forbidden foods but is this something that should not be eaten every day? And again I may have read about this somewhere else.. lol. Just making out some different foods and I remembered this...thank you!

It's not that I am against it, but that it is fortified and pretty calorically dense. Plus it's super high in sodium and when we were first starting off, we were still treating sodium as something that should be really avoided although I have since come around to believing that it makes little to no difference; though I still keep the idea alive for people who want it because it is possible to do LE and limit sodium, I really think it's way easier to do without the sodium restrction.

When I first started off doing this, people were still loooking for magic foods they could eat in unlimited quantities - but bread is NOT one of them. You can def. eat it, it's just not a free food and you need to track the cals and protein and fat in it.

I ate a butt-ton of it when I was TTC my daughter. Every day 2-4 pieces.

Grandma Sycamore bread has no fat but a bit more protein, reg. white bread has a little fat in it but less protein, Pepperidge Farm has less sodium, so you do have some options there depending on what is more importantf or you.

I would starve without bread however because it's something I am eating a lot of...i am not really losing much for weight and it is disappointing. I only like rice enough to eat it sometimes and I can't stand gluten free pasta or bread so I am stuck with what to do to lose more weight. If I weren't trying to get a girl I would cut carbs and just eat mainly veggies and meat but that isn't an option, hahaha

Well, if you're insulin resistant you aren't doing yourself any favors by sticking to the "crash and burn" style of LE, because your blood sugar will go higher and stay higher longer and that in turn may raise your T levels.

I have the modified "slow burn" diet here in this thread, the article is targeted at PCOS but is good for anyone who is not losing weight on LE.

I don't really know how to tell if I am insulin resistant. I normally run on the low blood sugar side...I do know that. I did lose 5 lbs right away but now it kind of is sticking in the same 2-3 lbs, going up and down constantly never dipping below 155 lbs.

You cant spot insuline resistance resistance in blood sugars. I've got perfect blood sugars. But also every sympton fitting insuline resistance.

If you have a hard time losing weight, and esp. if you GAIN weight on crash and burn LE, then the odds are you have some tendencies in that direction. You can have the tendencies without being totally IR, and then you go onto the crash and burn LE Diet and the insulin resistance can go from a tendency to a problem!!
