i tried out l-arginine for the 1st time and this is what happened:
started on cd10 skipped 2 days
then cd13, then skipped one day
then cd15, skipped one day
then cd17
when i 1st took it i felt increased heartbeat, anxiety, lots of energy, i felt GREAT! (plus i had just had a cup of coffee 30 min prior..you are supposed to take it on an empty stomach).
i restarted my AF in feb 2011 (after BF'ing) had O'd on cd23, then cd 20, then cd 19, and this cycle cd17 (the earliest).
i noticed less hair on my body (mustache, eyebrows) but i have also been dieting (low carbs, small portions, running around). only worked out once with weights so far. and have been losing weight.
so far, having only taken l-arg once, i ovulated earlier than normal.
next month i plan to take l-arg (af to O, every other day) WITH gelatin. we'll see what that does.
anyone else have similar experiences? anyone else take l-arg with gelatin? if so, what did you experience?

I'm in the same boat as Cemas ... I took L'arg for just 2 days one cycle and it screwed mine up. I also know several ladies feel like it dried them up. BUT ... I think you should try it next month and see what it does, because there are absolutely some ladies who felt l'arg gave them loads of good CM.

the thing is, i normally (thank god and knock on wood) have tons of ewcm as it is. so i didntw ant to ruin it for taking the l-arg. but i want to see if it increases my T and alkalinity...? we'll see what happens when i couple it with gelatin.
the last think i want is my O to delay or stop and my cm to dry up!!!

I haven't ever taken it but it can also help increase egg quality too. I'm tagging along for the ride on this one!

ok im on cd12 and i started l-arginine this cycyle with gelatin 3x/day. all teh initial side effects had disappeared (increased heart rate, anxiety, etc). i actually felt really good taking it like a natural energy supplement. without the crashing effect that some energy boosters have. i started l-arg on cd2 along with the gelatin. i continued with the l-arg every other day and gelatin everyday (3x/day). great boost of energy. not tiuredness feeling all day and sleeping well. also bug increase in sex drive. my husband loved it at first but is now hiding from me. ;-) (i cant wait for HIM to start t aking it!!)
now the drawbacks (for me). definite decrease in CM (as last time..but last cycle i started later in the cycle so this cycle i will have taken more l-arg). i normallly have creamy cm the day after my af stops completely (including any spotting) and then EW starts right away and iget EWCM for about 7-8 days in varying amounts. even when i have a TMI BM i only get a little bit of creamy (today is 4 days after AF completely stopped). ive also have been lifting/resistance training more (2-3 days a week but no routine really yet bc ive been busy). but still have been throwing in squats here and there.
im okay if this delays O but only up to a week (ive timed it out so that im hoping to O in MID october verse beginning october for my attempt). but if i find that i dont O by cd19 this cycle i will drop the l-arg. altho i wonder if its the gelatin???
which is more potent on your cycle i wonder? l-arg or gelatin??
next cycle, if i O close to my average of O'ing on CD19, i will do l-arg, gelatin, and zinc (these are all the T supps ive planned to take for my boy sway).
what do you guys think? what hormones do youthink are coming into play here? anyone with similar experiences?

How much l-arginine are you taking?
Atomic, can l-arginine be replaced with l-carnitine? I guess daily dosage is 500 mg right?
Gizmo, I was drinking only gelatine 2 times a day ( or 3 if I was VERY inspired) and it didn't move my O date.
I'm giving l-carnitine to DH 500mg/day for 6 months now but it did nothing for his sex drivem/c 2001

Arginine and carnitine are two diff. amino acid (actually carnitine is made from two other amino acids) and you can take them both (as far as I know anyway???)

Unfortunately I can't find l-arginine, so I guess I better don't experiment with l-carnitine?
L-carnitine is a-ok for DH, right, it should raise his T?m/c 2001

im taking 500mg every other day. and im running outof my gelatin!! nice experiement im running, im not even prepared. i thought the 16oz would be enough for at least 2 weeks. ive had SOME ewcm last night so im hoping my body is pushing thru whatever this stuff is doing for me. im debating to cut L-arg completely or decrease dosage further (every 2-3 days). i DONT want to dry up but then again...isnt the goal to CHANGE your cycle/hormones to get our boys? so i dont know..
one thing i did notice is that ive had more CREAMY cm, and when i tested the pH of that it was 7 or below whereas im usually 7.5 or higher with EWCM and right around O. which is good but then if thats how i am without anything why didnt i get my boy?
i was also thinking of cutting gelatin to 2x/day. i guess i just keep losing focus. i SHOULD be changing my hormones/cycle but the good stuff is going (poosible ovulation coming later and definite decrease in CM). an di DONT want to take another supplement to get my CM back...id rather cut some of the T boosts...right? i feel the less supps the better and more change in diet. i also wish ihad more time (and money) to test out what supps do what to me!!!
