That CAN be just fine for plenty of ladies especially ones with very regular cycles. But if you're not super regular or you have longer cycles, I really do recommend daily OPKs. Or if it's too much stress, BD every 4 days.
I have very regular cycles in terms of overall cycle length but when I O moves around quite a bit, just as an example. Thus why I will do BD every 4 days next month, after how much my poor quality OPKs upset me this month!

My Ovulation Chart currently TTC, Cycle #16 since last BFP
TTC #1- swaying pink on & off since Nov 2013 - hoping for a girl first but excited for either!
Dec 2001 - May 2006 : 5 early abortions of healthy singletons (3 medical @5w, 2 surgical @8w, last 4 pregnancies conceived with late DH, all conceived while TTA/on birth control)
Mar 2012: miscarried B/G twins @5w (conceived 2 cycles after remověng Paraguard copper IUD while NTNP), one twin was ovarian ectopic
Me: 34, widowed, late O + short LP, normal-good hormone levels excepting undetectable testosterone, seeking a known sperm donor/life partner
My sway: vegetarian LE for over 28w, skipping breakfast, fibre (ground psyllium husks) with/before/between meals, physically inactive, drama avoidance, ocassional minimal YesBaby lube as needed, alternate cycles on low dose Clomid, double shot lattes (with meals)
Past sway tactics I've dropped (in order): Vitex, Sudafed, antihistamines, intermittent fasting, one attempt per cycle at positive OPK, one attempt in fertile period

I wanted to try and bd every 4 days but it's just not possible with dhs work and my own work. I work till 8 at night and dh starts work early in the morning so goes straight to bed when I get in. He gets in from work and I go to mines. Will try my hardest to make time next cycle. My cycles were very regular but are all over the place now. Thanks so much for your advice. I really appreciate it.

Mrs I-it was a huge accomplishment just getting DH to go for 3 cycles.he really doesn't want anymore kids.I actually already was pg in Nov with one attempt O-1 but it just didn't stick.we also live @ my in laws now which BLOWS because we sold our home in 3 days back in Sept and have yet to find another one.DH just was diagnosed with Epilepsy since his last seizure on February 5th so with all that I'm surprised he hasn't backed out on the agreement.I'm gonna do a few accupressure sessions this month & some weight training so hopefully that will help.

Oh yeah lyngo, the diet sure messes up our cycles, doesn't it? But at least it's a good sign that we are successfully changing our bodies. I do recommend Vitex too, I just started it 2 weeks ago and I think it might already have started working as my LP is a bit longer this month.
Leebug, I'm so sorry you're dealing with multiple constraints and I hope things ease up for you. Not having your own place is awful, too. I'm in a temporary, crappy living conditions myself and it has a tremendously negative effect on my happiness.Maybe when DH is feeling better and you've moved out from your in laws he will change his mind...you never know!
Ladies, I had an AWFUL night...I developed a particularly bad crick in my neck/shoulder which led to extra back pain (muscles tightening and spasming), and I was also feeling burpy/nauseated due to an empty stomach. As a result I barely got any sleep and now I can hardly keep my eyes open.
Worst of all, I felt a gush in my panties late last night and it was light brown CMwhich doubtless means AF will arrive shortly. Then this morning my temp dropped to cover line. I did initially wake up with my mouth open due to congestion, but blew my nose then closed my mouth and slept for 30 more minutes before temping. Was that long enough to restore my normal oral temp, do you think? First time that's ever happened to me.

GM ladies - Leebug I am so sorry you have so much going on. I'm glad your dh is giving it another try though. I really hope things work out for you!
Maidentomother, sorry about all you have going on as well! Your temp was compromised when you got out of bed. I actually did a test to see if it made a difference by taking my temp regular time and then getting out of bed for a quick minute and retaking it. My temp dropped everytime I did that. So maybe that's the reason yours went down so far. I hope you you get a bfp!!Mika

AF came this morning...as expected.
Mika, I didn't get out of bed before temping...just woke up, realized mouth was open, blew my nose while lying down, slept for 30 min more, then temped. Today my temp was exactly the same as yesterday so I think it was probably pretty accurate. Good to know, right? I temped vaginally as well as I'd like to try that this cycle.

Aw sorry Maiden :-(
I've resisted testing so far, only 12dpo, but might test in the morning, a day before expected af.
Really hope March is your month!!! Plus you'll be entering the peak months for conceiving girls :-)
