Layla - how long is long period? You will probably get pg in a year or so ( probably sooner) so Imho that's not too long. Cholesterol is good - testosterone is made of it If you already have high blood pressure, maybe consult your dr first before salt-on-everything diet?

And yes, you should count on gaining weight.

Now the healthy part of boy diet: you should have 9 servings of fresh fruit/veggies a day and start some excercise - weights are great for raising testosterone and that way you will gain more muscle mass, not fat.
There are few great threads about boy friendly excercises on TTC a boy board

Cereals for breakfast is healthy as well.
I look to it more like a change of my girl friendly life style.

This happened to me after several months on the boy diet. I never had spotting before in my life, but was having 3-4 days of spotting pre-af. Maybe your AF is coming early? My spotting usually started on 11dpo. Atomic said it *could* be related to the fish oil since it is a blood thinner. It was driving me nuts so I finally called my doc and talked to the nurse and she said not to worry about it, cycles can change, etc. It didn't keep me from getting pg obviously; we'll see when I go in for my 1st appt how my progesterone numbers look I guess. I would see if it goes away next cycle but if it is the same I would call your doc about it.

Speaking of weight gain.....at the dr yesterday, they weighed me at 170!!! (Pre-ttc and swaying, I was at 135.) Funny thing is I feel more muscular since doing power yoga (which is like push-up for every part of your body, if you guys aren't familiar). Maybe I've gained some muscle weight. Anyway, I was shocked as hell. I weighed in the 170s when I delivered my girls back in the day. My brain immediately thought of how I may push 200 if I get pg, which made me almost faint. But....strangely....I don't feel like I look terrible, mostly now because my fat has turned to muscle. Very weird. I've always been thin and strong. Ah well, I'll get back there someday when my future baby is weaned. LOL

Babydes will you get an NT scan? I think that will give you a much better guess than the ramzi theory. I think that is like the OWT ... it has a 50/50 chance of being right!

Lola I also have two friends with boys who were on Clomid! And only one with a girl. So it definitely happens. I think if you're doing other stuff to counteract you're doing what you can, especially the egg whites or preseed since the Clomid girl-factor is really the CM drying up.

Iluv I wouldn't worry about the drinking or not being perfect on the diet at this point, y'know? It is what it is and you can only do so much. Can't sacrifice your life for this! Well, I guess some people can, I think it just depends on what it is worth to you, KWIM? I'm glad your cycles seem to be sorting out again.

Cheekymoo hold out til at least 9dpo to test! You can do it!!! Are you having any symptoms?

TTC5 my baby girl ran into a wall and split her forehead open. It was pretty nasty. There was zero doubt when I saw it that she needed stitches. She's a crazy little animal and unfortunately seems to be as accident prone as her mother

Great attitude Lola! And you know as long as you FEEL good I wouldn't worry about it. I was at the pool this weekend and was kind of liking that I'm not in my best shape... it felt so easy, really, because there were loads of women with better bodies than me, and loads of women in much worse shape. And I rather liked just being kind of an average gal. I felt way less self-concious than I used to when I was thinner, I guess because being average no one is really looking at you, KWIM?

Anyhow, you might not gain a ton when pregnant this time, who knows?!?

B, so sorry about your little animal! I hope she is doing ok. Poor thing, I hate to see little ones have to get stitches....but in a way, it teaches them to try to be more vigilant. All I have to say is, "BE CAREFUL! You don't want to have to go get STITCHES again, do you?" Or, when they have a cut or some little minor boo-boo that they are freaking about, I say, "Oh well, I guess if you think it's that bad, we'll have to go get STITCHES." And they are all, Oh, it's totally fine now, mommy. LOL
But seriously, hope you all are ok, it is never fun to be in the ER and watch your child get sewn up!

And I hope you are right about the weight gain when pg. I am going to have to watch it like a hawk, like calorie count and stuff. GAH. Strangely, I was invited to a chix-only pool party the other day (from and interesting older group of ladies I know in town) and was the smallest one there, save one young girl (23) who was a rail. She was so self-conscious of all of us vicious older ladies with nice thunder thighs talking shit about her that she kept her cover up on all day. Bwahahahah!

SO glad to always hear about boys coming from Clomid. I might actually bust out the ew again.

You know Lola the blessing of having a BFF whose son went thru organ transplant, and going to visit them in the hospital, is I reeeeeeeeeally don't sweat the small stuff when it comes to my kids and their health. The ER docs actually commented on how calm I was compared to the moms rushing in there normally. It's a cut, she'll live, let's get it take care of, KWIM? She did a great job too, I was proud of her stiff upper lip! LOL about the stitches with your girls! It will totally work with DD1 to threaten that; just seeing sis get them will deter her from any risky moves. But DD2 I think we'll be there again before she's 3 At some point I'll probably learn how to do it myself

Too funny about the pool party this weekend!! That poor girl I feel just terrible for her

I don't think calorie counting when pg is a bad thing at all... fact is you just don't need that much extra, esp in the 1st tri. That said I gained 40 with each of my previous so am expecting the same again... but I'm definitely going to try to keep it in the 20's. Though today the fetus has wanted Oreos and potato chips, and nothing else, so we'll see how well the minimal weight gain approach goes

So have you actually started the Clomid yet? I can't believe it is almost time for you to try again ... are you feeling ready?

iluv - So glad the meds are straightening out your cycles! Sorry your attempt wasn't as great as you hoped but don't get down about it. Fx that a blue bfp will soon be yours

B- what is it about #2, dh and I are amazed ours hasn't been broken or stitched up yet. Hope she's better now Congrats on not punching your friend, I swear the people who know you're swaying inadvertently say the worst stuff.
Glad your bean has no respect for your ass either, mine's been demanding sugar wafers.

Baby - I'm hoping the trauma level will be low, I've seen two of my births (after the fact) and am generally non squeamish but know they'll be sobbing.

Layla - I hear ya on the diet fears but it takes years/decades to cause damage and all of the early problems can be reversed. There are healthy ways to do the diet and you don't have to pound fast food and gain a ton of weight. Although many of us packed on quite a few pounds it happened slowly over a long period of time. IMO diet if far more important then any of the other factors, it's the only common denominator amongst boy moms.

Lola - Oh the weight horror, I too am at my full term weight. I'm choosing denial, I suggest you try it

Glad I'm not the only one, 3pnb! Denial it is, then. I think that is the best strategy at this point also!

B, I'm just about 2 or 3dpo now (no attempt, of course), so I expect AF midmonth, then will take the Clomid and go for it next cycle. Should be Oing around 7/31 or the first of the month.....RIGHT WHEN MY MOTHER IS IN TOWN. F&%K ALL. I would say that at 35 years old, and with a year of fertility bullcrap, I should be ok with telling her to enjoy a movie while we go do it, but alas, I just cannot handle that....so we will be maybe doing some early morning lovin.'

But I am getting a bit more excited now that I saw my dr and we have a "plan." I think I may do more boy-friendly stuff this month to counter the cm-drying/girl-swaying effects of the Clomid.

And ya, DD2s are programmed to be nuts so they get some attention, I guess. My DH thinks mine is the reincarnation of Chris Farley. We have seen this child try to zipper up a bag with such odd force that she catapults herself out of the bedroom door, looking like someone tossed her out of the bar, which sends us into hysterics. Once, I saw her SLIDE headfirst across an aisle of the grocery store when she tripped....all I saw was the sliding though. And my DD2 can CHUG beverages like a seasoned frat boy, and a cooler sense of humor than most of them, too. We are like HOLY HELL will break loose when this blonde testicle-crusher goes to college.
