Hi!
We TTC last month for the first time (one attempt) and right on time I had AF showing.
I have had AF for about 7 days which is a bit long for me - it was also a bit different : a lot more darker but still some period blood also. A mixture of spotting and heavy too.
So on CD9 (yesterday) we had our first BD as we thought we would BD every 4days this cycle.
This morning I had some O pains on my right side and thought I would check with OPK and yes it was definitely +. For me it is unusual to O so early on so on the off chance I thought I would do a pregnancy test - thinking that it is a really silly idea as its surely -.
Well it's a BFP which is a real SHOCK as I really thought I was out last month....I'm just wondering if AF was in fact an early miscarriage? Or implantation bleeding? Really confused there...not sure if I can let myself be happy!
Anyone else experienced this?

Congrats on the bfp!!
I have had 4 losses in the past, 3 I bled with and one I didn't (missed m/c). I also had a pregnancy where I bled around the time AF was due and it lasted a couple of days (that PG is my DS2!). So it can go both ways.
I would go in and have an u/s to find out what is going on, b/c of my history I always check everything out. Hopefully everything is totally fine and this is a healthy PG that just happens to be a bleeder! But on the chance that it could be an ectopic or a m/c that had retained tissue (sorry I don't know a better way to say it), it is very very important to be checked out!! If you only bled around the time of AF last month and haven't any more, it is more likely a healthy PG. But please promise me you'll get an u/s to make sure...tell your OB you are PG and having bleeding and want to make sure everything is ok (otherwise they may not let you get an u/s this early). I would even mention the pains in your ovary.
Best of luck hon, and sending you lots of sticky dust and good luck vibes!!Mommy to

Yes I had a full 5 day AF when pregnant. We later found out that I had lost a twin. So it may have been that, or it may have been bleeding from the cervix or the implantation process, or some other thing entirely.
I do agree you should go in and speak with a doctor because you may have had a miscarriage that's just taking it's time to work out. Pregnancy tests can stay positive for a while after a loss, but this is usually more true of later losses which are "stickier" than very early ones. I agree with HoB that the way this is occuring makes me think it is a healthy pg tho and so I will give you a tentative congrats andfor happy healthy bean (pref. a pinkie.)

Just heard that blood tests don't really conclude anything either: hCG is >100 and progesterone <40. Not sure what these levels mean.
Retest on Saturday to see if its increasing or decreasing.2003 - 2005 - 2013
