    Sickness and swaying

I was wondering why exactly being ill sways pink, and if it's just DW or DH that sway due to being sick? There's a virus/bug doing the rounds in my house and I'm due to O early next week. Hoping I'll be ok

Maybe it's the antibodies that are all riled up attacking whatever virus or bacteria is making you sick? Maybe that effects the amount of sperm allowed into the uterus, thereby lowering sperm count and swaying pink? Maybe it's general declining maternal condition, since you're more likely to get sick if you're not in great shape with good nutrition?

The fact is, we just don't know the particulars. We just know from observing years of women swaying while sick and reporting what they conceived that they're mostly getting girls.

I'm wondering if we DTD then 2 days later I O but am sick, do I go ahead and try my attempt seeing as I could probably get pregnant anyway from the 2 days before?

Also, if DH gets fever it can definitely affect his sperm count for 75 days. We are in that boat, and unfortunately, we are taking the precaution and waiting out the 3 month period.

We honestly just don't know at this point in time. I suspect it's becasue illness can suppress your overall fertility (which is why it can delay ovulation) and for your husband, fever can lower sperm health.

I still would continue to attempt because you are right, you could get pg from that one attempt and better to be in with 3 attempts at pos OPK in addition to that one.

Just for reference, there is a great article that indicates that a fever's effect on sperm count lasts for up to 70 days (or 10 weeks). I have been hit by this dilemma twice, unfortunately, so ask me how I know.
