    Freezing cold

With all my other pregnancies, my temp increases and I'm always warm. So warm that DH says it's like sleeping next to a heater and sometimes I'm too warm for him to be too close, but this last week I have been freezing!! I can't get warm, my hands and feet are frozen and last night as the temp dropped during the evening, I was even shaking whist washing up! It is autumn in Canberra so the days have been chillier but obviously not too cold as my family think I'm mad!!

Had anyone else gotten colder during pregnancy?

I also know the old wives tail says cold feet = boy!
DH wasn't happy to hear that. 😕

I had this happen to me with DD. With DS I was hot all the time. With my DD I was freezing... cold cold cold and when the summer did hit the heat didn't bother me like it did with the boys. I was PG during the winter with them and I would keep the house as cold as DH would let me. With my DD I was cold in the beginning and was never really hot until 8 or 9 months.

With this PG I am both hot and cold so I have no idea what that means

Really?!?? 😀 Don't get my hopes up like that! 😉😜 lol!!

Maybe you're having twins, one of each and that's why you're both cold and hot! 😉

My mum was boiling hot with me and I was freezing cold with both my boys, so we fit the typical old wives tale on that one! If you apply all of the old wives takes you will probably come out 50/50 lol! Xx

I'm constantly cold too Mumof6.... I'm in Melbourne and everyone else is saying it's not that cold, but I'm rugged up, sniffing because of heyfever... I feel like it's the dead of winter.

well I was beyond BOILING hot with all three of my boys so if I were to be cold with my next I would feel it's a girl. It's just another silly myth and it really doesn't mean anything. One more thing to drive us all batty you know?

It is normal during pregnancy to feel either real hot or chilly, it just depends on circumstance. Your metabolism speeds up and your temp rises, so you can both feel warmer than others and colder (just as when you have a fever and can have both fever and chills)

Sometimes feeling cold can be affiliated with thyroid issues you you may want to have it checked just to be on the safe side.

Thanks atomic. I think they tested my Thyroid hormones in my prenatal screen so I'll double check when I eventually get back to the dr!

This wont help you, or encourage you sorry! With this one (boy) about the minute we conceived I was freezing all the time! Up until about 13 or 14 weeks along. I would be dressed as warm as I possibly could and under a warm blanket and I would still be shivering. I even checked my temperature a couple times and it was outrageous, I probably shouldn't of been alive LOL. I really thought this was my girl. Hope it works for you!!!!
