Hey ladies - I've been off with my visiting brother all day, and there's so much to catch up on!
You're all making me think I should stop taking Cal/Mag too. I've been taking it mainly because I'm eating so little calcium with this diet that I'm worried about the state of my teeth (which are actually quite terrible with weak enamel to begin with) and my bones (my mom is in the early stages of osteoporosis, so I worry about that). But for the short term I suppose it would be ok to have low calcium. Maybe if I only take 1 pill a day instead of 3? I suppose I should go read Atomic's Calcium thread so I can better understand the reasons not to take it. Remember that I'm an old-timer IG swayer, and it was always about Calcium, Calcium, Calcium...it's hard to get that out of my head.
DM - I was bfing my 2 year old until about a month ago, and so I wasn't taking SP or Baby Aspirin either...luckily for me ds decided to self wean at just the right time so I could start taking those drugs. I think the danger of Baby Aspirin (and cranberry for that matter) is that because they're blood thinners, they could cause a bleeding episode with your little one.
Sorry I can't respond to everyone individually - this thread is becoming so popular!
Today I didn't even bother tracking my nutrients because I'm hosting my brother so eating more normal food.
Breakfast: coffee
Lunch: 1/2 a regular white kaiser bun with goat cheese and roasted red peppers (YUM! If it hadn't been for that full sodium bun, this would fit within the diet), lemon gelato for dessert
Supper: We went out for Indian. I had: eggplant curry, sag paneer and paneer korma with some rice and half a Naan bread (for those who don't know, paneer is just Indian fresh cheese, so all the food was vegetarian). I also ate some Pappadum even though I knew I shouldn't (it was gloriously salty!) I also had a Mango lassi. Technically I didn't eat anything not allowed on the diet, but I'm sure when I consider my high salt lunch I went over 1000mg today (though not by too much, I hope).
Snack: grapes, Sour Patch Kids

Mocha- Yeah after doing a bit more research I feel somewhat comfortable with Chitosan, and def. no Saw palmetto, Cal/Mag I'm going to skip, and baby aspirin I think I'll incorporate the week of O(taken at least 6 hours before nursing my little one). The main reason Dr's would say no to a nursing mom taking aspirin is because children that are sick/have fever could get Reyes Syndrome(not sure what that is but it's not good)from having it their system. There has never been a documented case(through nursing) so I'm sure that it's not something that us nursing moms would really have to worry about but I just want to be cautious. Oh and your meals today sound scrumptious!!!! I think I'm salivating right now...
So far it's been a pretty good day

This is what I do, my calcium/magnesium is solubile, I take one spoon to get the normal daily amount (including the calcium I get through food) instead of 3 spoons I would take to get at IG swaying levels. I do this because I had lack of calcium when I BF Ds2 and became VERY crancky and explosive because of it, and the girl diet makes me crancky enough as it it!

Thanks, Indira - maybe that's what I'll do. I can just wait until the end of the day and since I track all my nurtrients anyway I'll just take as much calcium as I need to get to the RDA. I've never liked milk and have never gotten enough calcium, which is why my bones and teeth are in bad shape already!
