Thread: Chocolate

  1. #11
Go out and buy a scoop or two of ice cream. I do cheat and eat a little piece of chocolate every once in a while. I try to stick to white chocolate though. What is worse stressing over a piece of chocolate or obsessing over every bite of food? That is how I have felt lately.

I know that's a trial of one and so meaningless, but someone please tell me exactly WHY we can't eat it?? I know this diet is meticulously researched by our own great atomic, so I'm sure the answer is simple and I've just forgotten.
DARK chocolate has a lot of antioxidants, and also has saturated fat that your body uses to make cholesterol.

That having been said, there ARE no magic foods and if you want to occasionally eat chocolate while following a low-everything style diet, that's fine by me. Just make sure it is a part of your diet and not extraneous.

I really think there's nothing to the "acidifying" foods thing, she got a girl because she was eating less of everything and the chocolate was just a part of the overall less.

EXACTLY. That is a recurring theme with girl-moms...dieting while still eating a lot of sweets! Like one girl told me, for lunch every day she used to eat a candy bar and a diet Coke!

The FOODS don't matter in and of themselves. It's the low protein, low cal aspect and if chocolate here and there fits into that, GREAT!!!

I just realised I have enough room in my sodium and protein budget for the day to have some (boring) yogurt. Actually, maybe I should go out and buy something really decadent like a doughnut!
Milk choc is better than dark but it's true that one bar isn't going to substantially raise your t levels (unless you have to physically wrestle your husband to the ground for it and then eat it standing over him gloating in triumph...)

So funny, I'm pretty sure I've probably done that at some point!

I love the part about girl mums losing weight while eating crap - that just about sums up my diet at the moment!

After 2 months without chocolate, this scenario is entirely possible
