    Anxiety in pregnancy

So I've suffered with anxiety since my early 20s... With my last pregnancy the anxiety magically vanished, but this time around it feels worse than normal. Have any of you suffered with anxiety in pregnancy, and what helped you cope through it? My doctor put me on safe anti-d's for pregnancy but they are taking quite a while to kick in. Just hate feeling like this... I want to feel happy and excited like my first pregnancy.

Oh my gosh.I developed anxiety and full blown panic attacks when I was pregnant with ds1. It took me 3 years after that to pluck up the courage to go to the doctors.I kept the anxiety and panic attacks to myself during pregnancy.that's how I coped.if I was feeling anxious about something i.e going out,I just refused to go.it never went after giving birth.that was 8 year ago. I am absolutely dreading getting pregnant this time as I haven't had a panic attack in quite a while so I don't want them coning back.I have tried councilling, CBT,and anti depressants which I chose not to take.the only thing that helps slightly that aren't addictive are beta blockers. Hugs to you because I know what it feels like.x

I had it with my pg with DS 2 and also postpartum. Somehow, some way, I got through it. I was a mess the whole time.

I hope they are able to help you with it. It sucks.

No, he's pretty much the least supportive husband that ever lived. Whenever I really need him, not only is he not there for me even in the most basic of ways but he completely freaks out and becomes the biggest problem I have. :/ I suspect that does not help with anxiety issues!!

Really? Some men just do not cope with any type of emotional issue. My hubby's pretty good now. When we first met he just thought people needed to snap out of it. Its not until a close family friend of his took his own life that my husband started taking mental health seriously.

You do an amazing job raising 5 kids with little help!!

Unfortunately! It's not just emotional stuff, it's everything. He just puts himself ahead of everyone in every thing, even serious things for the rest of us, if it's inconvenient for him even slightly, he's a complete ass. I always thought it was that he was young, he worked a lot, etc. but it turns out he's just not the person who i thought he was. After 20+ years there's just no more excuses to be had. But, whatevah! it is what it is.

Hug your hubby for being as supportive as he is!

I'm so sorry Atomic, it would be a real struggle living day to day with that... At least you have 5 loving kids that will take care of you in times to come

I will hug him for you, hehe
