Yeh mrs she had 2 images one she said looked girl I saw that one it looked kind of boyish but still no obvious scrotum or turtle but I have seen images the same that have been swollen girl bits but she said girl bits would NOT be swollen at 18 weeks , I don't know if I told you's she sent me away for half an hour for some sugary drinks , she had me doing star jumps aswell ! Baby still had legs closed , but the place started getting really busy and she said yeh look testies penis and stopped the scan quick. I had boy nub shots though so I do think it is a boy. I'm just wondering if the legs were closed and at a bad angle what actually would be seen ? Xxx

I never can tell very well with nubs or skull shape. If it were me id be trying like you are, to believe its a boy, but i think there would be a tiny bit of hope still in my heart with the way the rescan was fairly vague. Not that i can tell anything from your scan pics. But i don't think the scan lady was all that convincing either way. Just me though!! Xx

It is not uncommon to not to get potty shots. Here where I live, Alberta, Canada...the medical techs ARE NOT ALLOWED to give potty shots. So I really didn't appreciate when people at IG were saying that Laurie looked bad for not providing potty shots, because some places just don't do it. Period. If we want potty shots here, we have to pay at a private scan place to get them...I know that is where Laurie went, but they could have the same rules there that our medical techs here have. It is not a far fetched concept.

I have heard of many people causing a miscarriage because of potty shots... once they can really confirm it is not what they want. Also some places don't even tell you a gender or let you look in that area because of the dangerous ways ladies try to end a preg.

One of my cousins has 4 girls and with the last one the Dr's refused to show her down there. She was so depressed with #3 they thought she would do something with #4. After she had the baby she was very sad but seems to be ok now. I think she is planning to go to a clinic to try for a boy soon.

I never even heard of potty shots till my aunt told me about the nub theory and to post my 12 week us on here and ig , there's still a bit of my heart saying c'mon it's gotta be a girl , I said before my mum passed last year a month before ds2 was born , she had a brain tumour and major surgery and wasn't the same after her op , we were very close and when I told her ds2 was a boy she kept saying no no it's a girl I want you to have a girl ( it was the illness speaking not her) so when I found out I was pregnant again in march I prayed every day give me a girl mum , I even had a dream my mum woke up in her hospital bed touched my face and said "aww my lassy" (lassy in Scotland means girl) and then I had a dream I gave birth and looked at my baby and said "aww my lassie" then I found out it was a girl I was just so overjoyed and couldn't believe it. How could I be so lucky to get the girl I asked for then within a week it all changed can you see why there's still a part of me thinking nah it's gotta be a girl , When I got very unconvincingly boy I was diss appointed but not in my heart , I'm still excited about my baby I'm still happy to be pregnant, I do understand that some people take GD really bad but I've never known of anyone wanting to hurt their baby by it , I just think babies are a blessing boy or girl , my mum tried for 7 years to concive my brother she was worried I would have the same problem , dh just needs to look at me and I'm pregnant and I know I am very lucky for that and thankfull xxx

Lol at your dh!! We're not to far off that (except when doing lime douches etc on ig!). Its so sad about your mum passing, and what being told girl represented for you. You're a strong girl not letting that drag you down into the clutches of gd
I was annoyed at the scan place for not doing potty shots, and told them as much, its kinda what i paid for!!! So i can vouch for Laurie as we both went to the same place!!! THEY DON'T DO POTTY SHOTS! Even at my rescan when she had it on screen she didn't save me one. Although we took a video on my phone and i can take stills from that when i get nervous. As I've said, I'm so thankful it was only to back up my +99% girl result of my harmony dna test or I'd be paying again to go to babybond for confirmation.

I was in baby bond website last night ready to book for Saturday but just a silly moment , I'm glad you had your harmony DNA mrs ! I wouldn't want anyone els to worry just because this happend to me , my aunts 23 weeks with a girl and the woman got that right but said at 23 it was hard to determine the sex than what it would be at 20 weeks? Found that strange too that she had said that. They had my potty shots saves from 16 weeks cos the woman looked back at them xxx

I'll just clarify as reading these posts I'm not sure whether I made myself clear

I do not doubt they don't do potty shots- laurie explained they didn't and I saw that others hadn't that had visited the same place, ( I appreciate she just found the originals on the disc)I just find that so bizarre. Ofcourse at the medical 29wk scan I would t expect it, that's not the reason for that visit and many will not tell you or even look. My shock is at a place that the whole point of visiting is for gender determination, just makes me wonder if they've been wrong a lot? Why not provide the most obvious thing, it's not like they havnt allready told the customer what it is whether it is the gender they wanted or not, I've just never heard of it that is all and makes me suspicious - of the place
I'll leave it as that as whatever I'm replying with seems to be taken out of context
