Oh I understand, and really appreciate you helping me figure this out!! I count ovulation day as the last day my monitor registers as a "peak" day. Usually I have two peak days (Somewhere between days 16-18). I'm looking at my phone log and pretty much every month is that same pattern.

Usually you will ovulate 24-48 hours after your clear blue says peak so you might be ovulating as late as CD20

Those fertility monitors only detect your Lh surge, many women often ovulate 36-48 hours later, (I'm always at the 48 hour end of the spectrum) so if your Lh peaks cd 18 and you're actually ovulating cd 20 and you have a. 34 day cycle then you've got a perfectly "normal" 14 day LP. And it's good to figure this all out before your attempt do you don't go months with a bunch of bfn's!

I am unsure as to LP but in my personal experience, being as regular as a clock, 14-15 FP and pretty much always 13 LP, I really needed to 'mess things up' and after Vitex and SP (Vitex making my FP shorter and SP longer) and then with a crazy cycle of 49 days on Clomid, I fell pregnant with a girl on a 12 FP cycle. I guess it is definitely the out of the norm in a cycle that counts more than anything when swaying pink.

OK the experience we have had on Clearblue is that some people are getting peaks and then not ovulating. the first surge is a faker, and the downside of the CBFM is that once you get a peak reading it stays "stuck" on peak. Most people just stop testing and assume they've ovulated, but people who are charting every month have seen weird stuff happen where they aren't having a temp rise and they want to keep testing but they can't because their CBFM is stuck on peak, so they have to either actually go buy another one or else do cheap OPK only to end up ovulating a couple-three days later.

Now, it could be that this is just one of those unusal cases and you really are the only person I've ever talked to who is regularly having 19 day LP, but I think the more likely explanation is that you may have to kind of "gear up" for ovulation and so your LH goes up a bit before you actually really truly surge. THe Clearblue is detecting this and thinks it's a surge.

So, my thinking would be to have you DTD on the day of SECOND peak and then that would have you covered both for that day (if it really truly is O day) and then for a couple days after that. Then at the 4 day mark (4 days since prev. BD) have another attempt.

Ok that sounds great! We won't be trying for a few more months, but I will let you know when we get closer.

There is a lot to consider when trying to figure out ovulation. Never knew it could be so complicated so I'm glad to have you all help me because it stresses me out!

I am wondering how length of cycles sway . I was having 23-25 day cycles prior to having a BFP . It started off at 23 days and went longer by a day each cycle . I just got a BFP and my previous cycle was 25 days . Each cycle I got my first lh surge On cycle day 14 . On the cycle I got pregnant my first lh surge was on cd15 .

So to me this seems that I have a short luteal phase .. hopefully my baby sticks .

How is it that follicular phase sways ? Any insight how my cycle may have had an influence on the gender of my expecting baby ?

Well, unfortunately cycles can change and they don't always change predictably so it may have been that if you hadn't conceived you were going to have a 30 day cycle (O on CD 16 and then 14 day LP) We just don't know. It could be that you'd have a short LP but then again maybe you wouldn't have. Since pregnancy makes progesterone and then your period doesn't come, we can't tell what would have been.

We can't look at a person's follicular phase (and yours was totally in normal range!! nothing unusual about those cycles, just slightly shorter than average but still normal) and tell what gender their baby will be.
