    blood....

I am 7w2d and need a reminder from those who have experienced it that sometimes spotting in pregnancy is normal. Dh and I had sex 2 nights ago.... That could be the cause. Right??? I've never had a good outcome with spotting, but my sister did throughout her pregnancy so I'm tying to keep calm. Help please!

We saw baby and heartbeat 6w1d and found out today heartbeat was 124. My first pregnancy we saw the baby 3 times before mc (I spotted in and off), the last time was 3days before the mc. So, unfortunately, seeing the heartbeat isn't as reassuring as it should be. I know that the rate of mc typically falls to 5% after seeing a heartbeat....

Oh I'm sorry! Bleeding is always scary . I had it with number 1 and 3. Strangely the only pregnancy where I didn't was the one where we lost a twin. Take it easy for a bit and see if it settles xxx

Not much I can day to make you feel better since you know all the stats and how it's been for you in the past but just because it's been bad in the past doesn't mean this one has to be the same. Have your symptoms lessened a lot? Do you feel something is wrong?? I hope it's nothing and yes it can totally be from the sex...especially if it is dark blood.

It's light pinky red. I've had a hard time believing this pregnancy is real, but never really have any symptoms. I'm tired and gassy. That's typical for me and pregnancy. I've been through (or almost through) the first trimester 5 times, so I'm not concerned about no nausea or sore breasts. Rationally know it's probably from sex 2 days ago, but the emotional side is a little freaked out. Trying to decide if I'm cramping or not and comparing the sensation to my first mc.
Even at 7w, I still look for blood every single time I go tothe bathroom. Dh says I knew it was a bad idea to have sex.
Anyway, thanks for the responses. Will call the Dr in the am and call into work to be on the safe side.

Hi Angie, I know how scary this can be! I had quite a heavy bleed with DS1 around 22 weeks with no recent sex. I called my midwife and she said as long as I didn't have any cramping and baby was still moving not to worry and everything was fine.

I've since had it again with this pregnancy around the same time, but it was immediately after sex (got up to use bathroom and left a huge gush), sorry for tmi. No cramping and baby still moving so I didn't worry.

Midwife reassured me that it's completely fine and that the cervix is like your nose with lots of blood vessels, and sometimes they just bleed. Obviously sex is is the most likely cause. But it's normal to freak out a little. I know your a lot earlier in your pregnancy and it's very scary but hang in there I'm sure everything will be fine.

Good luck and keep us posted

I think that if it's triggered by sex it is usually nothing to worry about. Did you see on the scan the location of placenta???

YES exactly about the cervix, thank you Rinny. Sometimes too, when your placenta is near to the cervix it makes the bleeding/spotting even more likely.

The ultrasound showed a blob. I hope it's just bc of sex. Dr sent me for blood tests (which I see as pointless, but whatever). No blood today, so I've got everything crossed all is good with my baby blob.
