How long does sperm really survive?

I always here different things most people say they only survive 48 hours max. My ovulation was late so I ended up with a 5 day cut off and really hoping im preg but doubt it. I did an early preg test (first response) and im on cd 27 of a 31 day cycle used fmu and got a negative. Could I still be preg?

How long does sperm really survive?

I've always heard 5 to 7 days. Wasn't temping or doing pols, but I'm pretty in tune with when I O & ds4 was at least a 5 day cut off, possibly more like 7(we were trying to avoid, thought it was further away)

I have conceived with one BD 5 days before O and also one BD 6 days before O(we weren't really TTC either time), but we are super-fertile!!! And didn't use any jellies with those two pregnancies. Best wishes!

My charting instructor tells me that during non fertile mucus, sperm can not survive, but during fertile mucus, sperm can survive 6 days.

Up to 5 days, but that is under the most ideal conditions. Probably more like 3...
