This is something i actually don't understand. In what way does a weightloss sway girl?
If a X or Y sperm reaches the egg first isn't something you can control? (Beside trying to influece the sperm counts in other ways)
But in the end, you can't make a X or Y sperm to swim faster or for example, make the X WANTING to reach the egg more than Y just because you lose or gain weight? (Hope you see what i mean)
So what does a weightloss causes? A miscarriage if it's a boy?(I have read something about this and glucose + environment in early pregnancy) I would be so thankful if someone could explain this for me.

Weightloss. Can this be right?!

I'm sure that somebody will come along and correct me if I am wrong, but here is basically the way that I understand it:
X sperm, and Y sperm have preference that have been set forth after many years of human evolution. The female body essentially creates an environment that is suitable for one sperm or another based on outside influences. So when we talk about weight loss in particular- If a woman is losing and weight, and in a declining state, her body begins to create an internal environment that X sperm is more likely to thrive in. This is because after many years it has been shown that female infants are more likely to survive and thrive when their a limited outside resources. It is a matter of survival for human as a species. Humans in general are more likely to pump out more females in times of poor condition, and more males in times of prosperity.
I hope that helps somewhat.Four Amazing Boys!

it's the declining maternal conditions we are aiming for, not necessarily the weight loss. There are ways you can do the diet without losing weight, ie consuming empty carbs like fizzy drinks which are nothing but sugar and have little to no nutritional value. An upside to weight loss is when combined with cardio exercise it helps to decrease muscle mass which is what you need to help lower testosterone. Less Muscle Mass = Less Testosterone. There aren't any risks to the embryo/foetus by losing weight and it certainly wont cause you to miscarry any boy babies!
The reason we want low blood glucose is from the theory that girl embryos have been shown to absorb more glucose. (I think its that way round, but i could be wrong)

So.. the environment (down there?) a weight loss cause favor female pregnancies? If dh has 50/50 X and Y sperm, what will the environment do with the X and Y sperm? Slow down/kill the Y and make X stronger?
Is the pH down there different when you lose weight or what else happens with the environment?
Thanks for reply!Last edited by eme1ieh; August 15th, 2014 at 03:49 PM.

Is it that famine/weight loss cause a more acidic environment?
If that's the case shouldn't sugar and a lots of 'empty' carbs without losing any weight cause this environment to? (Not that healthy though) If that, i could even gain weight and still sway girl?

It's not really to do with the acidity or ph, although it may well make it more acidic, it is more about the low glucose and maternal condition, it is true you technically could put on weight and still sway girl, I'm not sure if it'd be as effective as the weight loss but while eating foods that may be high in calories but low in everything else your body will still not be getting the nutrients it needs to think everything is plentiful.

It's because when your body doesn't think you have enough nutrients to have a healthy baby boy (because they need more nutrients from conception onward throughout life) it changes its own environment in some way to make X or Y sperm more likely to fertilize the egg.
We do not know how this happens, but that is why we try and lose a bit of weight. If your body doesn't "think" that it has enough food to make a strong baby boy, it will "prefer" to conceive a baby girl.
I DO NOT think weight loss causes miscarriage in early pregnancy (I would NEVER EVER support that method of swaying). I think it just creates a preferential environment that then helps X vs. Y to win the race.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

We don't know how it works. Originally we thought pH would change when we lost weight, but pH has not proven to be a very helpful tactic.
I think what really happens is that the Y stay "sleeping" and the X wake up. I don't think ANY swaying method can kill one type of sperm and allow the others to survive. OR, it may be that something in the environment makes it easier for the X sperm to get through the eggshell. We just honestly don't know. What we do know is that in many, many other mammals, when the mothers are in good condition and have lots of nutrients, they have more sons than daughters.!!!
