Question In what way does Agnus castus sway?

I've heard that Agnus castus sway pink. In what way? (If it's true) I took it when i conceived dd without actually knowing this.

Well, like most things that sway we don't really know. But we think Vitex sways at least in part by drying up fertile cervical mucous and turning it creamy, which sways pink for reasons we don't know. Possibly via reducing the number of sperm that have access to the egg, but again, we don't know why that sways, just it seems to.

Also, Vitex seems to lower estrogen and raise progesterone, and that effect might sway pink. But again, just a theory that we don't fully understand.

Lastly, Vitex can really mess up your cycle, either causing ovulation to happen early or late, and for reasons we don't know, messed up cycles seem to sway pink.

Personally I do believe Vitex sways pink, but I don't think it is as strong of a factor as diet or amount of sex, or even cardio exercise. And bc it is a herb and available in different potencies and dosage, I think that makes it difficult to tell if it's swaying at times. I know many women who take Vitex for non-swaying purposes don't take a high enough dose to get the full effect, and I suspect that is true with swaying, too. Also it works best if you take it for at least 3 months but many women aren't that patient.

    My Ovulation Chart
currently TTC, Cycle #16 since last BFP

TTC #1 - swaying pink on & off since Nov 2013 - hoping for a girl first but excited for either!

Dec 2001 - May 2006 : 5 early abortions of healthy singletons (3 medical @5w, 2 surgical @8w, last 4 pregnancies conceived with late DH, all conceived while TTA/on birth control)
Mar 2012: miscarried B/G twins @5w (conceived 2 cycles after remověng Paraguard copper IUD while NTNP), one twin was ovarian ectopic

Me: 34, widowed, late O + short LP, normal-good hormone levels excepting undetectable testosterone, seeking a known sperm donor/life partner
My sway: vegetarian LE for over 28w, skipping breakfast, fibre (ground psyllium husks) with/before/between meals, physically inactive, drama avoidance, ocassional minimal YesBaby lube as needed, alternate cycles on low dose Clomid, double shot lattes (with meals)
Past sway tactics I've dropped (in order): Vitex, Sudafed, antihistamines, intermittent fasting, one attempt per cycle at positive OPK, one attempt in fertile period

    Thanks for reply!

Last time i took agnus castus i got pregnant with my daughter right the way. I didn't know it swayed pink. I had a regular cycle then and now after giving birth and breastfeeding my cycle is 29-31 day long.
I have a good experience of AC + regular cycle and i hope it's not just a coincidence. Before i tried AC i had two miscarriage in one year. We are ttc this fall and i've alredy bought AC for me.

I bought AC in the liquid form just like the last time i took it. (The standard dose is 30-40 drops/day) -Do you know if that's enough to sway?

Hmm. I take tablets, not liquid. But supposedly liquid extract is quite strong. Unfortunately I don't know how to convert between liquid and dry dosages. I take 3 tablets daily, each tablet has 400mg of extracted active ingedient, for 1200mg total daily. Is there any potency info on the bottle you have? Like how many mg 30 drops contains? Or even the ratio of extraction?

I also have a regular cycle and when I first started taking Vitex I had a weird month but everything was good after that. Often the 'messing up' is minor or short lived, and some women don't get messed up cycles at all. Hopefully you never do.

10-20 drops 3 times a day contain 1000mg! I have never tried tablets, but in some swedish forums i've read that people have more good experience of liquid agnus castus. I don't know if it's just a coincidence!

Hope AC will help you! I will start soon. For how long have you tried it?

Pink, but seems to be no magic bullet.

We honestly don't know how ANY of this really works. Speculation is because it alters estrogen/progesterone levels. Or maybe bcause it depresses fertility overall. It's just speculation and we do not know.

The liquid tinctures of herbs are tricky because they are not always concentrated in the same way so it's best to use the doses on the bottles themselves. One company may distill it more than another.

I'm not TTC right now but I will start trying again in December. I'll go back on the diet and Vitex in October. I was on it for nearly 5 months last time, March through July of this year. On the LE diet my LP is short, but Vitex makes it longer. Plus it really helps reduce my large amounts of EWCM.

I prefer taking it all cycle long, personally.
