    opk help!!

Hey everyone, this is my first month testing daily with opks, and im getting a little confused. I started testing on cd8 to be safe, and im now on cd12. My cycles are regular 28-32 day cycles. The first two tests I did were negative, but had a second faint line. The past two days I havent gotten a second line at all. Im not very experienced with opks so can anyone explain to me why im not getting a second line at all the past couple days? I dont think I ovulated yet, it seems too early but I really have no idea... thanks

If your cycles are usually 28-31 days long (as are mine) you still have plenty of time to O. In the past 6 months, i have Oed anywhere from CD16-CD22. And OPKs can be quite faint for a while then suddenly darken up very suddenly. So at this point you still have time. Are you temping also? What's your CM like?

    My Ovulation Chart
currently TTC, Cycle #16 since last BFP

TTC #1 - swaying pink on & off since Nov 2013 - hoping for a girl first but excited for either!

Dec 2001 - May 2006 : 5 early abortions of healthy singletons (3 medical @5w, 2 surgical @8w, last 4 pregnancies conceived with late DH, all conceived while TTA/on birth control)
Mar 2012: miscarried B/G twins @5w (conceived 2 cycles after remověng Paraguard copper IUD while NTNP), one twin was ovarian ectopic

Me: 34, widowed, late O + short LP, normal-good hormone levels excepting undetectable testosterone, seeking a known sperm donor/life partner
My sway: vegetarian LE for over 28w, skipping breakfast, fibre (ground psyllium husks) with/before/between meals, physically inactive, drama avoidance, ocassional minimal YesBaby lube as needed, alternate cycles on low dose Clomid, double shot lattes (with meals)
Past sway tactics I've dropped (in order): Vitex, Sudafed, antihistamines, intermittent fasting, one attempt per cycle at positive OPK, one attempt in fertile period

Thanks for your response! My mind is more at ease now. I dont temp and I try to pay attention to cm but its hard to tell when im ovulating because it never gets to that egg-white texture that is said to be ideal during o, so its kind of hard to read. Im hoping the opks will help me better understand my body.

I strongly recommend temping - it is the most reliable way to determine O without ultrasound or blood tests. Unfortunately OPKs don't work for everyone (I have never had a true positive, some women get multiple positives but don't O), though they do work for many.

I have found that my CM doesn't help me pinpoint O in advance so it's not that useful for TTC. OPKs only give me 24 hours warning, sometimes less. But my cervical position is quite helpful - my cervix turns HSO about 3 days before O. So checking yours may provide insight, too.

Are you taking anything to boost your EWCM production? Drinking lots of water?

You are always making a teensy amount of LH for other reasons. This can register on OPK tests (and in fact if your husband peed on one, HE'D get a second line too LOL) But it's only when the LH reaches a certain concentration that it triggers the suge.
